## What it does

The skill walks the agent through six steps. It starts by reading the product: what it is, how someone physically handles it, which parts open and in what order, and what has to stay identical wherever it appears. That reading goes through `analyzing-products` and `image_analysis`. No photo and no URL means the skill asks instead of inventing a product.

An interview follows, bundled into one message with room for a free-text answer. It covers only genuine gaps: brand guidelines, the offer and the single claim, the placement and its ratios. A brief that already makes the ad obvious skips this step. Ideas come from the single-minded proposition discipline — one consumer truth, one tension, one sentence about what the ad is. In a set, each frame starts from a different insight rather than a fresh treatment of the same one.

Copy is written last: a headline, an optional second line, and a 2–4 word call to action drawn as a button. Only claims the user supplies get used; no invented statistics or ratings. The product description is written once and reused word for word in every prompt, and label text is never transcribed because redrawn lettering comes back warped. Design then follows `references/ad-craft.md` — one focal point, figure separated from ground. The file stops at that step, so the final assembly and output are outside what it shows.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SupercmoHQ/superCMO-skills --skill generating-image-ads -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/generating-image-ads/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/generating-image-ads/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SupercmoHQ/superCMO-skills --skill generating-image-ads -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/generating-image-ads/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SupercmoHQ/superCMO-skills --skill generating-image-ads -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/generating-image-ads/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install SupercmoHQ/superCMO-skills generating-image-ads
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/generating-image-ads/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SupercmoHQ/superCMO-skills --skill generating-image-ads -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/SupercmoHQ/superCMO-skills --path skills/generating-image-ads
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/generating-image-ads/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SupercmoHQ/superCMO-skills --skill generating-image-ads -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/SupercmoHQ/superCMO-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/generating-image-ads/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- turn a product photo into a static ad frame
- build a set of creatives for several placement ratios
- keep the product identical across every frame
- shape an offer and one claim into a finished layout
- write a headline and a call-to-action button

## Example prompts
- Make a 1:1 image ad from this product photo, offer is 20% off through Sunday
- Build a set of static ads for stories and feed, product must look identical in each
- Create a promo graphic for the launch, headline plus a Buy button

# Image ads

Turn a product into finished static ad(s).

## Workflow

### Step 1: Read what you have

- **A product image or URL is available** → hand it to `analyzing-products`, and take four things
  back: what the product is; **how a person physically uses it** — sprayed, pumped,
  worn, etc.; which parts open or move, and in what order; and the details that have to stay identical wherever it appears.
- **Look at the image before you describe it.** Take the product only from what the image shows. Run `image_analysis` and ask it for everything this ad needs that the product facts leave out — how the surfaces take light, and whatever else the frame you end up building will have to describe.
- **Product not supplied** → don't guess at the product. It becomes the first thing Step 2 asks for.

### Step 2: Interview

**Skip this entirely when the brief already makes the ad obvious** — a clear product, a clear message,
and nothing load-bearing missing. The interview exists to close real gaps, not to confirm what you
were already told.

Otherwise ask once, bundled into a single message. Always leave a free-text way out so the user can answer off-menu. Anything this skill already settles is not a question.

**Do ask, when the answer is genuinely missing:**

| Ask | When |
| --- | --- |
```
