## What it does

This skill acts as an art-direction layer over available image-generation workflows such as `imagegen`. It inspects uploaded moodboards or posters and splits visual DNA into reusable grammar and protected signature elements. High-level traits like scene density, depth layers, and typographic scale are preserved, while logos, exact poses, and compositions are explicitly blocked.

Users set proximity with a dial from 30% for distant inspiration up to 85% for close art-direction neighbors. When building a multi-brand set, the skill holds constants like aspect ratio and texture, then swaps the brand name, product ritual, and environment. Each concept receives its own 16:9 generation prompt instead of batching variants into one call.

Without an active image-generation tool, the skill produces prompt blueprints and brand matrices rather than finished artwork. Iterations save as sibling files like `brand-name-v2.png` to avoid overwriting earlier work. It checks every output to confirm at least four signature elements differ from the reference.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill generate-reference-inspired-brand-worlds -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/generate-reference-inspired-brand-worlds/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/generate-reference-inspired-brand-worlds/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill generate-reference-inspired-brand-worlds -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/generate-reference-inspired-brand-worlds/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill generate-reference-inspired-brand-worlds -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/generate-reference-inspired-brand-worlds/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install MengTo/Skills generate-reference-inspired-brand-worlds
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/generate-reference-inspired-brand-worlds/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill generate-reference-inspired-brand-worlds -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/MengTo/Skills --path agent-skills/codex/generate-reference-inspired-brand-worlds
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/generate-reference-inspired-brand-worlds/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill generate-reference-inspired-brand-worlds -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- generate distinct sister brands from a single visual reference
- build original image prompts without copying proprietary logos or poses
- adjust aesthetic proximity to a reference using a 30% to 85% dial
- render exact brand wordmarks cleanly within generated 16:9 campaign visuals

## Example prompts
- Create an original brand concept based on this reference at 70% similarity.
- Generate three distinct brand identities sharing the visual family of Image 1.
- Move this concept from 40% to 70% similarity while keeping the brand name from Image 2.

description: Generate multiple original brand campaign worlds from a supplied visual reference while controlling how close the new work feels without copying protected signature elements. Use when a user provides a brand identity image, poster, editorial campaign, moodboard, or generated concept and asks for inspired alternatives, several distinct brands in one visual family, a closer-to-reference V2, exact wordmarks inside images, or originality-safe image-generation prompts and outputs.

# Generate Reference-Inspired Brand Worlds

Create brand concepts that feel intentionally related to a reference while changing the identity, meaning, subjects, and signature composition. Treat this as an art-direction layer over the available image-generation workflow.

## Start correctly

1. Load and inspect every supplied image before prompting.
2. Label each input explicitly:
   - `Image 1: primary visual-language reference`
   - `Image 2: current concept/content anchor` when revising an existing result
3. Use the available image-generation tool. When the built-in `imagegen` skill is available, load it and follow its save, reference, iteration, and validation rules.
4. Treat a style reference as guidance, not an edit target, unless the user asks to preserve specific pixels.
5. Keep the reference image out of reusable skill assets unless the user owns it and explicitly authorizes redistribution.

## Set the similarity dial

Use the user's language to choose a target. The numbers communicate intent; they are not measurable similarity scores.

- **30% — distant inspiration:** keep only abstract principles such as mood, density, or contrast.
- **50% — recognizable influence:** share medium and emotional tone; change palette, composition, subjects, and type system.
- **70% — adjacent brand family:** share the reference's composition logic, texture, palette relationships, human presence, and wordmark scale while creating new subjects, actions, arrangement, and letterforms. Default here for “not too different from the inspiration.”
