# gc-minimal-zine-poster-v0-3

This skill turns a theme, sentence or photo into a minimal paper-texture zine poster: it picks a metaphor, writes the prompt and generates the image.

## What it does

Give it a theme, a sentence, an article, a mood or a photograph and it returns a vertical poster with lots of negative space, a small collage element and one color accent. Unless you explicitly ask for analysis or a prompt alone, you get both the image-generation prompt and the raster image.

There are five modes. Generate Mode is the default: it reduces the content to a single visual metaphor, then picks a variation recipe and compiles the prompt. Photo Input Mode kicks in when your own photo has to shape the result — each image gets a role (edit target, reference image or supporting insert) and a preservation level from High to Low. Reference Analysis Mode reads a folder of references and returns style rules without generating anything. Prompt-only and Analyze + Generate round out the set.

The skill reads from `references/`: `style-system.md` for every mode, `prompt-compiler.md` for generation, `quality-gate.md` before handing back an image. If a face or product must stay recognizable, choose High — the skill prefers cropping the original photo over redrawing the subject. It will not copy brands, watermarks or an exact composition from reference-only images, and image models distort long text, so the skill advises keeping on-poster copy short.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add LiamGvchi/gc-minimal-zine-poster --skill gc-minimal-zine-poster-v0-3 -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/gc-minimal-zine-poster-v0-3/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/gc-minimal-zine-poster-v0-3/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add LiamGvchi/gc-minimal-zine-poster --skill gc-minimal-zine-poster-v0-3 -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/gc-minimal-zine-poster-v0-3/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add LiamGvchi/gc-minimal-zine-poster --skill gc-minimal-zine-poster-v0-3 -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/gc-minimal-zine-poster-v0-3/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install LiamGvchi/gc-minimal-zine-poster gc-minimal-zine-poster-v0-3
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/gc-minimal-zine-poster-v0-3/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add LiamGvchi/gc-minimal-zine-poster --skill gc-minimal-zine-poster-v0-3 -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/LiamGvchi/gc-minimal-zine-poster
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/gc-minimal-zine-poster-v0-3/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add LiamGvchi/gc-minimal-zine-poster --skill gc-minimal-zine-poster-v0-3 -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/LiamGvchi/gc-minimal-zine-poster/tree/HEAD/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- turn a single sentence into a finished poster
- extract reusable style rules from a reference folder
- keep a recognizable face or product in a new composition
- get a production-ready prompt for an image generator
- produce a batch of posters in one visual family

## Example prompts
- make a zine poster from the phrase "quiet evening in August"
- analyze this reference folder and give me the style rules
- build a poster from this photo, keep the person as they are

# Minimal Zine Poster v0.3.1

Turn content or visual references into a coherent paper-poster system. Preserve the original production contract: unless the user explicitly asks for analysis or prompt-only output, return both a final image-generation prompt and the generated raster image.

## Route The Request

Choose the smallest mode that satisfies the request:

- **Generate Mode — default:** theme, sentence, article, object, mood, photo, or brief → visual metaphor → prompt → generated image → inspection.
- **Photo Input Mode — Generate subflow:** a supplied photograph that should affect the output → classify its role and preservation level → pass the actual image into generation → inspect both poster quality and source preservation.
- **Reference Analysis Mode:** reference images or a folder plus a request to analyze, extract, or systematize the style → evidence-based style rules and reusable prompt. Do not generate an image unless requested.
- **Prompt-only Mode:** use only when the user explicitly asks for a prompt without image generation.
- **Analyze + Generate:** when the user asks to learn from references and make a new poster, run Reference Analysis first, then Generate Mode with the extracted system.

If the intent is ambiguous but clearly asks to “做一张”, use Generate Mode. Do not stop to ask about choices the skill can make safely.

## Load The Relevant References

- Read `references/style-system.md` for every mode.
- Read `references/prompt-compiler.md` for Generate and Prompt-only modes.
- Read `references/variation-engine.md` before choosing a generation recipe or batch plan.
- Read `references/reference-analysis.md` whenever reference images or folders are supplied for analysis.
