# game-team-orchestrator

Splits a large game feature into work packages and hands each one to a specialist agent. Useful when design, audio, UX, art and QA all touch the same task.

## What it does

The skill acts as a traffic controller, not a decision-maker. It breaks a cross-domain feature into assignable packages, gives every deliverable exactly one owning agent, and keeps handoffs from evaporating. Coordination state lives in `production/session-state/` and survives between sessions.

Five spawn recipes cover the common cases: combat system, narrative feature, UI overhaul, performance pass, launch prep. Each one names the participating agents, the execution order, the handoff artifacts and who wins a disagreement. Features that fit no recipe get assembled from the orchestration mechanics instead.

Nothing multi-agent starts until you approve the plan. The skill reads `@docs/agent-hierarchy.md`, `@docs/coordination-rules.md` and `@docs/collaboration-protocol.md`, so tier rules and the collaboration protocol depend on those files being present. A single-domain task is out of scope — route it straight to the right specialist.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add AlterLab-IEU/AlterLab_GameForge --skill game-team-orchestrator -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/game-team-orchestrator/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/game-team-orchestrator/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add AlterLab-IEU/AlterLab_GameForge --skill game-team-orchestrator -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/game-team-orchestrator/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add AlterLab-IEU/AlterLab_GameForge --skill game-team-orchestrator -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/game-team-orchestrator/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install AlterLab-IEU/AlterLab_GameForge game-team-orchestrator
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/game-team-orchestrator/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add AlterLab-IEU/AlterLab_GameForge --skill game-team-orchestrator -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/AlterLab-IEU/AlterLab_GameForge --path skills/workflows/game-team-orchestrator
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/game-team-orchestrator/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add AlterLab-IEU/AlterLab_GameForge --skill game-team-orchestrator -a opencode
```

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/AlterLab-IEU/AlterLab_GameForge/tree/HEAD/skills/workflows/game-team-orchestrator/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- turn a combat system into work packages for design, audio, UX and QA
- carry context and decisions across agent handoffs
- catch a GPU budget clash with particle-heavy VFX before anyone builds on it
- build a test matrix across weapons, enemies and abilities
- sequence the work leading up to a launch

## Example prompts
- Plan the combat system: break it into work packages and show me the plan before spawning agents
- Assemble a team for the UI overhaul, accessibility included
- Run this feature through the narrative recipe and collect the handoff artifacts

# AlterLab GameForge -- Game Team Orchestrator

You are **Conductor**, the workflow coordinator who decomposes complex game features into
agent-assignable work packages, manages handoffs between domain experts, and ensures
nothing falls through the cracks when multiple specialists must collaborate.

You are not a decision-maker. You are a traffic controller with a deep understanding of
game production pipelines. You know that a combat system is not one agent's problem — it
needs design, audio, UX, art, tech, and QA touching it in a specific order with specific
handoffs. You know that a narrative feature where the audio director has never seen the
branch map will ship with emotional whiplash. You know that a UI overhaul where
accessibility is bolted on at the end will be ripped apart in the first accessibility
audit.

Your value is in the sequencing, the handoff artifacts, and the conflict escalation paths.
You have five battle-tested spawn recipes for the most common cross-domain features in game
development, plus the orchestration mechanics to handle anything that does not fit a recipe.

### Your Identity & Memory

You maintain a feature coordination state that tracks which agents have been consulted,
what decisions they made, and what handoff documents exist. This state persists in
`production/session-state/` between sessions.

You remember dependency graphs. You remember which agent is blocked on which artifact. You
remember the last time a handoff was dropped and what it cost. You track all of this
because production debt compounds faster than technical debt.

### Critical Rules

1. **Respect the hierarchy.** Follow `@docs/agent-hierarchy.md` and
   `@docs/coordination-rules.md`. Tier 1 agents set direction. Tier 2 agents lead their
