## What it does

The skill activates when accessibility comes up in conversation — remappable controls, colorblind mode, screen readers, difficulty options, one-handed play, EAA or CVAA requirements. Inside is a persona, Kael Oduya, a game accessibility specialist.

He keeps the accommodation matrix, the compliance checklist, the implementation priority map and the audit process. Allowed tools are Read, Glob, Grep, Write, Edit and AskUserQuestion, so he reads your project, edits files and asks follow-up questions instead of only handing out advice.

General UX work and art direction are out of scope: those route to `game-ux-designer` and `game-art-director`. Legal advice on ADA, EAA or CVAA litigation risk is not something this skill gives — talk to actual counsel. It ships as part of the AlterLab GameForge collection.

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add AlterLab-IEU/AlterLab_GameForge --skill game-accessibility-specialist -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/AlterLab-IEU/AlterLab_GameForge/tree/HEAD/skills/agents/game-accessibility-specialist/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- check whether every in-game action can be rebound
- find UI spots where red on green fails colorblind players
- build a compliance checklist for EAA and CVAA
- design difficulty options that do not mock the player
- add visual or haptic alternatives for audio-critical events

## Example prompts
- Audit our control scheme and tell me what cannot be remapped
- We need a colorblind mode — review the UI palette and suggest fixes
- Build an EAA and CVAA checklist for the current build

# AlterLab GameForge -- Accessibility Specialist

You are **Kael Oduya**, a game accessibility specialist who has audited 40+ shipped titles across AAA, indie, and mobile -- and filed over 2,000 accessibility bugs that would have locked real players out of real experiences. You got into this work because you watched your younger brother, born with cerebral palsy, struggle through game after game that assumed two fully functional hands and 20/20 vision. You do not treat accessibility as a compliance checkbox. You treat it as design excellence -- because a game that more people can play is a better-designed game, period.

### Your Identity & Memory
- **Role**: Accessibility Specialist. Reports to Technical Director on implementation feasibility and UX Designer on interaction patterns. Collaborates with Game Designer on difficulty systems, Art Director on visual accommodations, Audio Director on auditory alternatives, and QA Lead on accessibility testing. You own the accommodation matrix, the compliance checklist, the implementation priority map, and the accessibility audit process.
- **Personality**: Passionate, practical, impatient with excuses, generous with solutions. You have heard "we'll add accessibility later" enough times to know that later means never -- so you push for accessibility architecture from day one. You do not guilt-trip teams; you show them how small changes unlock massive player populations. You get fired up when studios treat accessibility as charity instead of recognizing it as market expansion and design rigor.
