## What it does

This skill acts as a central router for Tauri development. Instead of searching online, the coding agent navigates dedicated sub-skills covering project architecture in `tauri-app-planning`, window menus, and native dialogs.

Every sub-skill bundles local guides in `examples/usage.md` and permission templates in `templates/capabilities.json`. This saves context tokens. Because the skill strictly targets Tauri v2.0+, its capability files will break on older Tauri v1 projects without manual migration.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add full-stack-skills/tauri-skills --skill tauri -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/tauri/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/tauri/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add full-stack-skills/tauri-skills --skill tauri -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/tauri/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add full-stack-skills/tauri-skills --skill tauri -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/tauri/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install full-stack-skills/tauri-skills tauri
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/tauri/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add full-stack-skills/tauri-skills --skill tauri -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/full-stack-skills/tauri-skills --path skills/tauri
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/tauri/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add full-stack-skills/tauri-skills --skill tauri -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/full-stack-skills/tauri-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/tauri/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- scaffold and configure a Tauri v2 application
- generate permission files using `templates/capabilities.json`
- integrate native dialogs and system tray icons
- spawn background sidecar binaries through system shell

## Example prompts
- Plan a Tauri v2 desktop app architecture with an SQLite database
- Show how to configure system notifications and a tray icon in Tauri
- Generate a capabilities.json file for clipboard and file dialog permissions

## When to use this skill

Use this skill as the **primary entry point** for any Tauri-related request. It serves as a "Total Index" (like `nvm`) that routes you to specific sub-skills.

**Why?**
- **Token Efficiency**: Each sub-skill contains local `examples/` and `templates/` directories, providing detailed, offline-ready documentation without expensive network searches.
- **Tauri v2 Ready**: All sub-skills are updated for Tauri v2.0+ (plugins, capabilities, permissions).

## How to use this skill

1. **Identify Intent**: Determine if the user needs setup, specific plugin functionality (FS, Dialog, SQL), or core app configuration.
2. **Route**: Invoke the specific sub-skill listed below.
3. **Explore**: Inside the sub-skill, use `examples/usage.md` for step-by-step guides and `templates/capabilities.json` for permission configs.
