## What it does

The skill inspects Git history since the previous tag to determine the next semantic version bump from Conventional Commits. It supports overrides via a `.releaserc.yml` configuration file. If it encounters breaking changes, it alerts you to cut a major release.

It scans for version manifests such as `package.json`, `pyproject.toml`, `Cargo.toml`, or `VERSION`. The tool also discovers localized changelogs matching patterns like `CHANGELOG*.md` and updates headings per language code. Contributor attribution relies on the `gh` command-line tool, so missing GitHub CLI authentication will prevent tagging external pull request authors.

You can preview all modifications before execution using `--dry-run`. Explicit flags `--major`, `--minor`, and `--patch` override automatic semver calculations.
