## What it does

This skill covers a proxy that accepts OpenAI-format requests and converts them for Freebuff. It exposes `/v1/chat/completions`, supports streaming, rotates several auth tokens, and can send outbound traffic through an HTTP proxy. The guide shows connections from `curl`, Python and Node.js SDKs, plus LangChain.

Deployment examples use Docker or Docker Compose. A source build requires Go 1.23+. Configuration can live in environment variables or `config.json`, with options such as `ROTATION_INTERVAL`, `REQUEST_TIMEOUT`, and `API_KEYS`. A Freebuff auth token is required before the proxy can reach the upstream service.

## Requirements
- Works with: Docker

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add reason-machines/trending-skills --skill freebuff2api-openai-proxy -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/freebuff2api-openai-proxy/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/freebuff2api-openai-proxy/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add reason-machines/trending-skills --skill freebuff2api-openai-proxy -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/freebuff2api-openai-proxy/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add reason-machines/trending-skills --skill freebuff2api-openai-proxy -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/freebuff2api-openai-proxy/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install reason-machines/trending-skills freebuff2api-openai-proxy
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/freebuff2api-openai-proxy/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add reason-machines/trending-skills --skill freebuff2api-openai-proxy -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/reason-machines/trending-skills --path skills/freebuff2api-openai-proxy
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/freebuff2api-openai-proxy/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add reason-machines/trending-skills --skill freebuff2api-openai-proxy -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/reason-machines/trending-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/freebuff2api-openai-proxy/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- deploy an OpenAI-compatible Freebuff proxy
- connect Python or Node.js clients to Freebuff
- rotate several Freebuff auth tokens
- protect the proxy with `API_KEYS`
- route outbound traffic through an HTTP proxy

## Example prompts
- Set up `freebuff2api-openai-proxy` for Claude Code with Docker and `AUTH_TOKENS`.
- Create a `config.json` for token rotation and proxy access through `API_KEYS`.
- Connect the Python SDK to `http://localhost:8080/v1` and enable streaming.
