## What it does

The skill covers a whole design direction for an interface: page shell, framing lines, cards, panels, typography, controls and background treatment. Everything sits on a near-black foundation with subtle tonal separation between the background, framed panels and elevated interactive rows. The outer container gets visible edge rails, thin grid boundaries and small corner markers so the composition reads as engineered.

One-pixel gradient borders are the signature motif on containers, buttons, modules and cards. The palette stays restrained: black, charcoal, smoke gray, white, silver. If an accent is needed, it comes from the brand and stays sparse. Quiet sans-serif type is paired with mono labels, uppercase system headings and micro-metadata. Layouts are asymmetrical, with a larger hero or information region balanced by a smaller visualization or utility panel, split by thin dividers and gap-based seams.

There is a tuning section inside: border brightness, grid asymmetry, technical density, surface opacity and accent restraint. The skill also lists what to avoid. Flat black layouts with no container logic, heavy colorful neon glows and thick borders break the whole idea — this is not generic dashboard dark mode and not glossy glassmorphism.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill framed-tech-dark-border-gradient -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/framed-tech-dark-border-gradient/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/framed-tech-dark-border-gradient/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill framed-tech-dark-border-gradient -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/framed-tech-dark-border-gradient/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill framed-tech-dark-border-gradient -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/framed-tech-dark-border-gradient/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install MengTo/Skills framed-tech-dark-border-gradient
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/framed-tech-dark-border-gradient/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill framed-tech-dark-border-gradient -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/MengTo/Skills --path agent-skills/web-design/framed-tech-dark-border-gradient
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/framed-tech-dark-border-gradient/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill framed-tech-dark-border-gradient -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- give a dark interface engineered frame logic instead of soft floating cards
- build an asymmetrical panel grid with thin dividers
- make gradient borders carry hierarchy rather than act as decoration
- settle on a restrained monochrome palette with a rare brand accent
- separate active and inactive list rows with an edge bar and subtle fill

## Example prompts
- Build this landing page in the framed-tech-dark-border-gradient style
- Rework this page as a dark design system with gradient borders and mono labels
- Lay out a dashboard: asymmetrical grid, thin boundaries, corner markers

# Framed Tech Dark Border Gradient Skill

## Use When
- Create a framed dark technical design system with border-gradient shells, asymmetrical grid panels, mono utility labeling, and restrained monochrome atmosphere.

## Workflow

## Scope
- Apply this as a full design-system direction across page shell, framing lines, cards, panels, typography, controls, and atmospheric background treatment.
- Use it when the interface should feel premium, technical, dark, and architected around visible boundaries instead of soft floating cards.
- This is not generic dashboard dark mode and not glossy glassmorphism. The identity should come from frame logic, border gradients, overshooting rails, and precise monochrome hierarchy.

## Visual target
- Build the page on a near-black foundation with subtle tonal separation between background, framed panels, and elevated interactive rows.
- Use a strong outer container or application shell with visible edge rails, thin grid boundaries, and small corner markers that make the whole composition feel engineered.
- Let one-pixel gradient borders or wrapper borders become a signature motif on containers, buttons, modules, and interactive cards.
- Prefer a restrained monochrome palette of black, charcoal, smoke gray, white, and silver. If an accent color is needed, derive it from the brand and keep it sparse.
- Pair quiet sans-serif typography with mono labels, uppercase system headings, and micro-metadata so the interface feels operational and precise.

## Implementation guidance
- Prefer asymmetrical grid layouts with clearly segmented panel blocks, such as a larger hero or information region balanced by a smaller visualization or utility panel.
- Separate panels with thin dividers, border lines, or gap-based frame seams so every region reads as part of one measured container system.
