## What it does

The skill takes finished inputs — a transcript from Zoom, Meet, Otter, Fireflies, Krisp MCP, or plain notes, including a mix of both. It organizes content by topic instead of chronology, and each topic segment carries a short discussion summary, the decisions made, and actions with owner, due date and dependencies. A consolidated actions view at the end groups everything by owner, so each attendee can scan what they owe.

If a file named like `{YYYY-MM-DD}_{HH-MMtimezone}_{title-slug}_agenda.md` sits in the same directory, the skill picks it up and uses its topic list as the skeleton. It then reconciles planned against actual: topics hit, topics skipped, topics that emerged off-agenda. It will not invent owners or decisions — an action without one is marked `[owner: unassigned, needs confirmation]`, and an uncertain decision gets a confidence marker. There is a threshold too: when unassigned actions exceed 30% of the total, or any high-priority action has no owner, a `## ⚠ Ownership reconciliation required` block appears at the top of the recap with suggested next steps. Worth checking before those actions turn into ownerless tickets.

Execution is low-friction: the skill reads the input, prints a short inference summary, and waits for `go` or corrections. Pass `--go` to skip that checkpoint. It does not transcribe live meetings — you feed it text that already exists.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add product-on-purpose/pm-skills --skill foundation-meeting-recap -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/foundation-meeting-recap/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/foundation-meeting-recap/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add product-on-purpose/pm-skills --skill foundation-meeting-recap -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/foundation-meeting-recap/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add product-on-purpose/pm-skills --skill foundation-meeting-recap -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/foundation-meeting-recap/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install product-on-purpose/pm-skills foundation-meeting-recap
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/foundation-meeting-recap/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add product-on-purpose/pm-skills --skill foundation-meeting-recap -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/product-on-purpose/pm-skills --path skills/foundation-meeting-recap
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/foundation-meeting-recap/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add product-on-purpose/pm-skills --skill foundation-meeting-recap -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- write up a meeting by topic rather than by the order people spoke
- pull decisions out of a transcript and mark them clearly
- assign actions to owners and due dates inside each topic
- check which agenda items were covered and which were dropped
- spot ownerless actions before they become stray tickets

## Example prompts
- Build a recap from this Otter transcript, take the topic list from the agenda file next to it
- Turn these meeting notes into a topic-segmented recap with decisions flagged and actions grouped by owner
- Produce the meeting recap with --go, skip the inference summary

# Meeting Recap

A meeting recap is a post-meeting topic-segmented summary produced for attendees and light distribution. It organizes content by topic rather than chronology, highlights decisions visually, and captures actions inline (with owner, due date, dependencies) per topic segment, plus a consolidated actions view at the end for scannability.

This skill absorbs what would otherwise be a separate "meeting-actions" skill. Actions in this family live alongside the context that makes them meaningful, not in a sibling artifact.

This skill belongs to the Meeting Skills Family. It conforms to the [Meeting Skills Family Contract](../../docs/reference/skill-families/meeting-skills-contract.md).

## When to Use

- After any internal meeting that produces decisions or actions affecting attendees
- When a sibling `foundation-meeting-agenda` exists and needs reconciliation (planned vs. actual topics)
- When the team needs a topic-organized reference rather than a chronological transcript dump
- When inputs include a transcript (Zoom, Meet, Otter, Fireflies, Krisp MCP) or mixed notes and transcript

## When NOT to Use
