## What it does

The skill covers Formisch, a form library where a Valibot schema defines both types and validation rules. Your agent gets the package table: `@formisch/angular` with `injectForm`, `@formisch/react` and `@formisch/vue` with `useForm`, `@formisch/solid` and `@formisch/svelte` with `createForm`, `@formisch/qwik` with `useForm$`. React Native has its own package.

Two stores are documented. The form store exposes `isSubmitting`, `isValidating`, `isDirty`, `isValid` and root-level errors. The field store holds the path, current input, field errors and the touched, edited and dirty flags. There is a section on dirty tracking: Formisch keeps the initial input from the server next to the current one, and `isDirty` flips when they diverge.

Reactivity is where people trip. React, Solid, Svelte and Vue expose plain properties. Angular uses signals, so you call `field.errors()`, and Preact and Qwik need `.value`. Copying one framework's access syntax into another breaks. Valibot is a peer dependency and gets installed on its own with `npm install valibot`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add open-circle/agent-skills --skill formisch -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/formisch/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/formisch/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add open-circle/agent-skills --skill formisch -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/formisch/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add open-circle/agent-skills --skill formisch -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/formisch/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install open-circle/agent-skills formisch
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/formisch/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add open-circle/agent-skills --skill formisch -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/open-circle/agent-skills --path skills/formisch
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/formisch/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add open-circle/agent-skills --skill formisch -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/open-circle/agent-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/formisch/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- build a login form with a Valibot schema and error output
- wire fields to native inputs through `field.props`
- keep dirty state honest against server data
- handle Angular signals instead of plain properties
- write a React Native form without a DOM `<form>` element

## Example prompts
- Build a signup form with Formisch and Valibot for React
- Why is `field.errors` a function call in Angular?
- Rewrite this form from `useForm` to Svelte's `createForm`

# Formisch

This skill helps AI agents work effectively with [Formisch](https://formisch.dev/), the schema-based, headless form library for modern frameworks.

## When to Use This Skill

- When the user asks about form handling with Formisch
- When managing form state and validation
- When working with Angular, Preact, Qwik, React, React Native, Solid, Svelte, or Vue forms
- When integrating Valibot schemas with forms

## Introduction

Formisch is a schema-based, headless form library that works across multiple frameworks. Key highlights:

- **Small bundle size** — Starting at ~2.5 kB
- **Schema-based validation** — Uses Valibot for type-safe validation
- **Headless design** — You control the UI completely
- **Type safety** — Full TypeScript support with autocompletion
- **Framework-native** — Native performance for each supported framework

### Supported Frameworks

| Framework    | Package                  | Hook/Primitive |
| ------------ | ------------------------ | -------------- |
| Angular      | `@formisch/angular`      | `injectForm`   |
| Preact       | `@formisch/preact`       | `useForm`      |
| Qwik         | `@formisch/qwik`         | `useForm$`     |
| React        | `@formisch/react`        | `useForm`      |
| React Native | `@formisch/react-native` | `useForm`      |
| SolidJS      | `@formisch/solid`        | `createForm`   |
| Svelte       | `@formisch/svelte`       | `createForm`   |
| Vue          | `@formisch/vue`          | `useForm`      |

## Installation

### 1. Install Valibot (peer dependency)

```bash
npm install valibot
```

### 2. Install Formisch for your framework

```bash
npm install @formisch/react         # React
npm install @formisch/angular       # Angular
npm install @formisch/vue           # Vue
npm install @formisch/solid         # SolidJS
npm install @formisch/preact        # Preact
npm install @formisch/svelte        # Svelte
npm install @formisch/qwik          # Qwik
npm install @formisch/react-native  # React Native
```

## Core Concepts

### Schema-First Design

Every form starts with a Valibot schema. Types are automatically inferred from the schema.

```ts
import * as v from "valibot";
const LoginSchema = v.object({
  email: v.pipe(
    v.string("Please enter your email."),
    v.nonEmpty("Please enter your email."),
    v.email("The email address is badly formatted."),
  ),
  password: v.pipe(
