## What it does

Guides agent coding for Dart and Flutter. It organizes projects by feature into distinct data, domain, and presentation layers. Business rules stay in use cases, dependencies link through `GetIt`, and failures return via `Either<Failure, Success>` using `Dartz`.

State management focuses on Riverpod with `@riverpod` annotations and `Freezed`, or BLoC and Cubit. The instructions require `SelectableText.rich` instead of standard SnackBars for displaying errors. Functions must stay under 20 instructions. Adding `const` constructors prevents unnecessary widget rebuilds.

If a codebase omits `Dartz` or `GetIt`, the resulting use cases and dependency setups will trigger compilation errors immediately.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Mindrally/skills --skill flutter -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/flutter/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/flutter/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Mindrally/skills --skill flutter -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/flutter/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Mindrally/skills --skill flutter -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/flutter/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Mindrally/skills flutter
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/flutter/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Mindrally/skills --skill flutter -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Mindrally/skills --path flutter
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/flutter/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Mindrally/skills --skill flutter -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- structure Flutter apps using feature-first clean architecture layers
- set up Riverpod state providers with code generation and Freezed
- register dependencies and business logic use cases using GetIt
- write unit and widget tests matching official guidelines

## Example prompts
- Create an authentication feature using clean architecture, repository pattern, and Riverpod
- Build a user profile view using Cubit without deeply nested widget trees
- Write unit tests for the order checkout use case returning Dartz Either types

# Flutter

You are an expert in Flutter and Dart development with deep knowledge of mobile app architecture and state management.

## Core Principles

- Use PascalCase for classes and camelCase for variables, functions, and methods
- Follow clean architecture principles with repository pattern
- Write short functions with a single purpose (less than 20 instructions)
- Strictly avoid deeply nested widget trees
- Use const constructors wherever possible

## State Management

### Riverpod
- Use @riverpod annotation for generating providers
- Prefer AsyncNotifierProvider and NotifierProvider over StateProvider
- Use Freezed for immutable state classes

### Bloc/Cubit
- Use Cubit for managing simple state
- Use Bloc for complex event-driven state management
- Implement error handling properly in state classes

## Architecture

### Clean Architecture
- Feature-first folder organization
- Separate data/domain/presentation layers
- Strictly adhere to Clean Architecture layers
- Use Either<Failure, Success> from Dartz for functional error handling

### Dependencies
- Use GetIt for dependency injection
- Implement repository pattern for data access
- Keep business logic in use cases

## Error Handling

- Implement error handling in views using SelectableText.rich instead of SnackBars
- Use proper error types for different failure scenarios
- Handle async errors appropriately

## Firebase Integration

- Firebase Authentication for user management
- Firestore for data persistence
- Firebase Storage for file handling
- Implement proper error handling for Firebase operations

## Performance

- Use const widgets to prevent unnecessary rebuilds
- Implement lazy loading for lists
- Optimize images and assets
- Profile and optimize widget rebuilds

## Testing

- Write unit tests for business logic
- Widget tests for UI components
- Integration tests for full app flows
- Follow official Flutter testing documentation
