## What it does

The skill covers Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Realtime Database, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and Firebase Hosting. It helps choose modular SDK imports, shape Firestore around the queries an application needs, and create security rules from the start.

It also includes Firebase Admin SDK and Firebase emulators. Firestore fits read-heavy, denormalized data, so a schema copied from SQL can leave required queries unsupported. Security rules are the last barrier around application data; skipping them is a concrete exposure risk.

The guidance calls out client-side admin operations and listeners attached to large collections as anti-patterns. Install it in Claude Code with `npx claude-code-templates@latest --skill development/firebase`.
