## What it does

The skill walks the agent through the places data surfaces before anything indexes it: paste aggregators, historical corpora that keep deleted pastes, `site:` queries over paste hosts, Telegram channel indexes and leak-search services. A separate section covers forums and dump markets as a category with a life cycle, so you learn the pattern instead of memorising site names.

The core job is triage. A genuine source dump inherits its schema from the application it came from: consistent column order, coherent identifiers with gaps where records were deleted, registration timestamps spread across the service's real lifetime, an email-domain distribution that matches the user base. A combolist has none of that — two columns, no metadata, sorted and deduplicated. The skill says to check external confirmation first, the victim's own disclosure or a regulator notification, before touching the data at all.

On Telegram the position is blunt: read public channels through the web preview, no account, no joining. Joining is an account action that exposes you and buys nothing when the channel is public. Forum registration is a durable risk, because forum databases leak, get seized and get published — assume any account you create becomes public eventually, with its email and IP history attached. Many organisations ban investigators from these sites outright and buy the intelligence from a vendor instead.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseOSINT/Skills --skill find-leaks-in-the-wild -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/find-leaks-in-the-wild/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/find-leaks-in-the-wild/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseOSINT/Skills --skill find-leaks-in-the-wild -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/find-leaks-in-the-wild/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseOSINT/Skills --skill find-leaks-in-the-wild -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/find-leaks-in-the-wild/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install UseOSINT/Skills find-leaks-in-the-wild
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/find-leaks-in-the-wild/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseOSINT/Skills --skill find-leaks-in-the-wild -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/UseOSINT/Skills --path skills/find-leaks-in-the-wild
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/find-leaks-in-the-wild/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add UseOSINT/Skills --skill find-leaks-in-the-wild -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/UseOSINT/Skills/tree/HEAD/skills/find-leaks-in-the-wild/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- check whether an email or domain is circulating in pastes and channels
- separate a genuine dump from a recycled combolist
- validate a breach claim made against your organisation
- set up ongoing leak monitoring with canary selectors
- analyse the structure of an advertised dataset from a sample

## Example prompts
- check whether this email has surfaced in pastes or Telegram channels this month
- we got an extortion claim — tell me if this dump is real or a combolist
- set up leak monitoring for our domain and canary addresses

  Find leaked or mentioned selectors circulating in pastes, leak forums, Telegram channels and
  dump markets, and judge whether a claimed leak is genuine or a recycled combolist. Covers
  paste aggregators, site: searches over paste hosts, channel indexes and leak-search
  services. Use when checking whether a name, email, domain or credential is circulating,
  verifying a breach claim made against your organisation, or setting up ongoing leak
  monitoring. Applies to incident response and breach triage, threat intelligence, brand and

# Find leaks in the wild

This is where data surfaces before anything indexes it, and where most of what
you find is a recombination of things that leaked years ago. Two mistakes cost
people most: assuming a paste host's own search will find pastes, and reporting
a combolist as a breach. The first wastes a day; the second is a factual error
in a deliverable and it will be found.

## Where to start with what you're holding

| You have | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| An email or username | A curated breach service first | Cheap, attributed, and answers most questions — `what-leaked-about-you` |
| A selector you think is circulating now | `site:` sweep of paste hosts, then a paste aggregator | Engines are shallow but free; aggregators reach what was never crawled |
| A paste that has been deleted | A historical paste corpus | Deletion is the norm; some services retain the content |
| A claimed breach of a named company | The company's own disclosure, then a regulator notification | One authoritative source beats any amount of forum chatter |
| A dataset being advertised | Structural analysis of the sample | You almost never need the full dataset to answer the question |
| A domain you're defending | Vendor monitoring plus your own canary selectors | One-off searches miss everything posted between them |
