## What it does

The skill gives an agent access to `ft` commands for updating a local bookmark collection, searching post text, filtering by author or category, and opening individual entries. Classification can use an LLM or regex rules. By default, the CLI keeps its files in `~/.ft-bookmarks/`; set `FT_DATA_DIR` to use another location.

The CLI requires Node.js 20+. Chrome-based sync also needs Google Chrome signed in to X/Twitter, and that mode is listed for macOS. Linux and Windows use OAuth instead. Install the CLI with `npm install -g fieldtheory`, then run `ft sync`. OAuth setup uses `ft auth` followed by `ft sync --api`; LLM-based classification requires access to an LLM.

- File: `~/.claude/skills/fieldtheory-cli-bookmarks/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/fieldtheory-cli-bookmarks/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add reason-machines/trending-skills --skill fieldtheory-cli-bookmarks -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/fieldtheory-cli-bookmarks/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add reason-machines/trending-skills --skill fieldtheory-cli-bookmarks -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/fieldtheory-cli-bookmarks/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install reason-machines/trending-skills fieldtheory-cli-bookmarks
```
