## What it does

The skill provides reference tables and command syntax for subtitle tasks in FFmpeg 7.1 LTS and 8.0.1. It directs the coding assistant to build valid commands for hardcoding SRT, ASS, or VTT tracks, embedding soft subtitles without video re-encoding, and overlaying text using `drawtext`. Styling options include ASS parameters with `&HAABBGGRR` hex colors, font controls, shadows, and screen positioning.

It covers format conversions, numpad-based subtitle alignment, and speech recognition using Whisper AI. Whisper features with VAD and GPU acceleration strictly depend on FFmpeg 8.0 or newer.

On Windows systems, file paths inside subtitle filters must use backslashes `\`, because forward slashes break parameter parsing.

## When to use it
- Burn SRT, ASS, or WebVTT subtitles directly into the video stream
- Add soft subtitle tracks to MP4 or MKV containers without re-encoding
- Extract embedded subtitle tracks into standalone files
- Configure font sizes, colors, and borders using ASS parameters
- Generate subtitles from audio using Whisper AI in FFmpeg 8.0+

## Example prompts
- Burn `subs.srt` into `video.mp4` using Arial 24pt font with a black outline.
