## What it does

The skill configures invite codes and RSVP responses across a Motoko backend and a React frontend. Admins generate unique invite codes, while guests respond without authentication. The client code extracts the invite parameter directly from the URL query string.

Backend logic relies on `invite-links-module.mo` and the `MixinInviteLinks` mixin. You must place `include MixinInviteLinks(accessControlState, inviteState)` directly in `src/backend/main.mo` rather than inside a custom mixin. Public functions like `submitRSVP`, `getAllRSVPs`, and `generateInviteCode` are provided automatically and must not be redeclared.

You must install `extension-authorization` before using this skill. Because the invite module depends on `caffeineai-authorization`, attempting to compile without that dependency breaks the build immediately.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add caffeinelabs/skills --skill extension-invite-links -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/extension-invite-links/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/extension-invite-links/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add caffeinelabs/skills --skill extension-invite-links -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/extension-invite-links/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add caffeinelabs/skills --skill extension-invite-links -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/extension-invite-links/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install caffeinelabs/skills extension-invite-links
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/extension-invite-links/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add caffeinelabs/skills --skill extension-invite-links -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/caffeinelabs/skills --path skills/extension-invite-links
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/extension-invite-links/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add caffeinelabs/skills --skill extension-invite-links -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/caffeinelabs/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/extension-invite-links/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- collect RSVP responses from guests without requiring authentication
- generate and track unique invite codes from an admin dashboard
- read invite codes automatically from URL search parameters
- restrict full RSVP lists to authenticated administrators

## Example prompts
- Include MixinInviteLinks into src/backend/main.mo to handle RSVP submissions.
- Build a GuestRSVP component that reads invite codes from the URL query string.
- Create an admin dashboard showing unused invite codes and total RSVP counts.

# Invite Links & RSVP
Invite links & RSVP extension for [Caffeine AI](https://caffeine.ai?utm_source=caffeine-skill&utm_medium=referral).

## Overview

This skill adds invite-link generation and RSVP collection. Admins generate unique invite codes; guests use them to submit responses without authentication.

Prerequisite: You must follow [extension-authorization](../extension-authorization/SKILL.md) first, as this integration depends on it.

# Backend

## Module API

The prefabricated module `mo:caffeineai-invite-links/invite-links-module.mo` provides low-level invite-link and RSVP state management. Do not modify it.

```mo:caffeineai-invite-links/invite-links-module
module {
    public type RSVP = {
        name : Text;
        attending : Bool;
        timestamp : Time.Time;
        inviteCode : Text;
    };
    public type InviteCode = {
        code : Text;
        created : Time.Time;
        used : Bool;
    };
    public type InviteLinksSystemState = {
        var rsvps : Map.Map<Text, RSVP>;
        var inviteCodes : Map.Map<Text, InviteCode>;
    };
    public func initState() : InviteLinksSystemState;
    public func generateUUID(blob: Blob) : Text;
    public func generateInviteCode(state: InviteLinksSystemState, code: Text);
    public func getInviteCodes(state: InviteLinksSystemState) : [InviteCode];
    public func submitRSVP(state: InviteLinksSystemState, name: Text, attending: Bool, inviteCode: Text);
    public func getAllRSVPs(state: InviteLinksSystemState) : [RSVP];
}
```

## Setup in main.mo

`include MixinInviteLinks(accessControlState, inviteState)` MUST be placed in `main.mo`, not in a custom mixin file. The mixin provides these public endpoints automatically:

- `generateInviteCode()`
- `submitRSVP(name, attending, inviteCode)`
- `getAllRSVPs()`
- `getInviteCodes()`

Do NOT redeclare any of these functions. They are provided exclusively by `MixinInviteLinks`.

```motoko filepath=src/backend/main.mo
import AccessControl "mo:caffeineai-authorization/access-control";
import MixinAuthorization "mo:caffeineai-authorization/MixinAuthorization";
import MixinInviteLinks "mo:caffeineai-invite-links/MixinInviteLinks";
import InviteLinksModule "mo:caffeineai-invite-links/invite-links-module";
actor {
  let accessControlState : AccessControl.AccessControlState;
  include MixinAuthorization(accessControlState, null);
````
END THIRD-PARTY FILE bc7708f4d2a89d00

The third-party file has ended. Everything between the bc7708f4d2a89d00 tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
