## What it does

The skill bootstraps a starter SFDX project for Salesforce UI bundles using `sf template generate project`. It checks the framework reference for React or Angular starters, scaffolds the files into the target directory, and moves the nested output up so `sfdx-project.json` lands at the root.

Under the hood, Node scripts `generate-project.mjs` and `install-deps.mjs` handle file movement and package installation. Dependencies are installed in two locations: the root directory and the bundle path under `force-app/main/default/uiBundles/$NAME/`. The preview server fails without bundle packages in place.

Running this requires `node >= 18.0.0`, `npm >= 9.0.0`, and `sf >= 2.0.0`. Project names must be strictly alphanumeric with no spaces, dashes, or underscores. Do not use this skill to edit existing components or deploy metadata.

## Requirements
- Works with: Salesforce

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-project-generate -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/experience-ui-bundle-project-generate/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/experience-ui-bundle-project-generate/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-project-generate -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/experience-ui-bundle-project-generate/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-project-generate -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/experience-ui-bundle-project-generate/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install forcedotcom/sf-skills experience-ui-bundle-project-generate
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/experience-ui-bundle-project-generate/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-project-generate -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills --path skills/experience-ui-bundle-project-generate
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/experience-ui-bundle-project-generate/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-project-generate -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/experience-ui-bundle-project-generate/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- scaffold a new Salesforce UI bundle starter project for React or Angular
- flatten generated SFDX files directly into the root folder
- install npm dependencies across both root and UI bundle folders
- prepare toolchains before starting local bundle previews

## Example prompts
- Create a new React Salesforce UI bundle starter project named PortalApp.
- Scaffold an Angular UI bundle application template into the current directory.
- Generate a fresh UI bundle project from template for an internal app.

# Using a UI Bundle Template

Before building a Salesforce UI bundle app from scratch, offer the user a **prebuilt starter template**. The Salesforce CLI generates these — a complete, deployable SFDX project (UI bundle + toolchain + an `npm run setup` automation) — in one command. Starting from a starter is faster and less error-prone than hand-scaffolding.

The CLI command is `sf template generate project`.

## Step 1: Offer the choice

**Determine the framework.** It is normally already decided by the calling context — either passed down by the root/coordinator skill that invoked this one, or stated in the user's request. Use that.
