## What it does

The skill walks the agent through the job: it queries `Network` to find the real site name in the org, then writes two permission sets — `MFA_Required_For_Community` and `API_Enabled_For_Community` — into `<source-dir>/permissionsets`. The first one enforces the second factor at login. The second matters because React Experience Sites make REST and Connect API calls after sign-in and fail with `API_DISABLED_FOR_ORG` without it. Deployment runs through `sf project deploy start`.

The MFA challenge page is rendered by the platform, so no React or LWC component is involved. The Identity Verification checkbox in org setup does nothing for community and portal users, which is why turning it on and waiting for a prompt on the portal gets you nowhere. Seeing the challenge served from the `vforcesite` domain is expected.

You need `sf` 2.0.0 or newer and `jq` 1.6 or newer, an active Experience Cloud site, and a Customer Community or Customer Community Login license. The site also has to be published at least once, otherwise there is no login to protect. If the site is not deployed yet, the skill stops and tells you to create it first. Assigning users, deploying metadata, and generating plain permission sets belong to other skills.

## Requirements
- Works with: Salesforce

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install forcedotcom/sf-skills experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills --path skills/experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/experience-ui-bundle-mfa-configure/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- enforce a second factor at login for external portal users
- create a ForceTwoFactor permission set for community users
- fix API_DISABLED_FOR_ORG errors after login on a React Experience Site
- work out why the MFA challenge never shows up on the login page
- resolve the real site name in the org instead of the `uiBundles/` folder name

## Example prompts
- set up MFA for the users of our Experience Site
- add two-factor authentication to the React portal, people can log in without it right now
- MFA isn't showing at community login — check the permission sets and whether the profile is a network member

# Enabling MFA on Experience Sites

Enable Multi-Factor Authentication for Experience Site (Community) users by deploying the correct permission sets and verifying the platform-handled MFA challenge flow.

## Scope

**In scope:**
- Deploying `ForceTwoFactor` permission set for community users
- Deploying `ApiEnabled` permission set (required for post-login API calls)
- Assigning permission sets to community users
- Troubleshooting MFA not appearing on login
- Customizing MFA/login page branding via NetworkBranding metadata

**Out of scope — delegate elsewhere:**
