# experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate

Adds a React or Angular UI bundle to an existing SFDX project and wires up its metadata. Useful when you need another bundle or an edit to ui-bundle.json.

## What it does

The skill walks the agent through the steps in order: run `sf template generate ui-bundle` with the `reactbasic` or `angularbasic` template first, then check the result with `node <skill_dir>/scripts/verify-bundle-location.mjs`, then run `node <skill_dir>/scripts/check-api-version.mjs`, which raises `sourceApiVersion` in `sfdx-project.json` to 67.0 if it sits lower. Framework detection goes through `detect-framework.mjs`, which prints `react`, `angular`, `ambiguous` or `unknown` — on `ambiguous` the skill stops and asks you.

The bundle belongs in `force-app/main/default/uiBundles/<AppName>/`, with the folder name matching `<AppName>.uibundle-meta.xml`. The meta XML needs `masterLabel`, `version` (up to 20 characters) and `isActive`. Skip `<target>` and the bundle shows up nowhere in the org — no App Launcher entry, no Experience Site URL. Internal apps take `CustomApplication`, external ones take `Experience`.

This is not for a project built from scratch; there the whole SFDX starter set is generated in one step by a separate skill. The skill also handles CSP Trusted Sites: when images, fonts or external API calls get blocked, the fix lands in `cspTrustedSites/*.cspTrustedSite-meta.xml`. The scripts want `node` 18.0.0 or newer, `sf` 2.0.0 or newer and `jq` 1.6.0 or newer.

## Requirements
- Works with: Salesforce

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install forcedotcom/sf-skills experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills --path skills/experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-ui-bundle-metadata-generate -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- add a second UI bundle to an existing SFDX project
- scaffold a bundle from the `reactbasic` or `angularbasic` template
- set routing and headers in `ui-bundle.json`
- register a CSP Trusted Site so fonts and external APIs stop being blocked
- bump `sourceApiVersion` to 67.0 before deploying

## Example prompts
- add a new React UI bundle to our existing SFDX project
- configure routing and the output directory in `ui-bundle.json` for this bundle
- external images are blocked — register a CSP Trusted Site

# UI Bundle Metadata

## Scaffolding a New UI Bundle

**REQUIRED FIRST STEP — never skip, even if asked to.** Always run `sf template generate ui-bundle` to create new apps — never a framework CLI (create-react-app, Vite, Angular CLI), hand-written metadata, or any other substitute.
