## What it does

The skill walks an agent through DigitalExperienceConfig, DigitalExperienceBundle, Network and CustomSite metadata. It scaffolds a site, adds pages as a route plus a view, and configures LWC components, layouts, themes and branding sets. Guest access for public sites is covered too: `sharingGuestRules` and sharing records with unauthenticated visitors.

Bundled reference docs must be loaded before anything else — site creation from a template, routes, views, theme layouts, branding, UUID generation for component and region ids, UI component discovery, and guest sharing rules. Node.js 18.0.0 or newer and Salesforce CLI 2.0.0 or newer are required, and some operations need the `metadata-experts` MCP server with the `execute_metadata_action` tool. If that tool is missing, the skill tells you to pause.

Only the Build Your Own (LWR) template, `talon-template-byo`, is supported. React and other ui bundle frameworks never trigger it, which matters if your project mixes LWR with regular LWC bundles. Flexipage is abstracted away for newer LWR sites with DigitalExperienceBundle, so Flexipage tooling does not apply here. Have the site name ready before you start; the URL path prefix can be derived from it, but the skill asks you to confirm the converted value.

## Requirements
- Works with: Salesforce

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-lwr-site-generate -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/experience-lwr-site-generate/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/experience-lwr-site-generate/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-lwr-site-generate -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/experience-lwr-site-generate/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-lwr-site-generate -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/experience-lwr-site-generate/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install forcedotcom/sf-skills experience-lwr-site-generate
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/experience-lwr-site-generate/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-lwr-site-generate -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills --path skills/experience-lwr-site-generate
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/experience-lwr-site-generate/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-lwr-site-generate -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/experience-lwr-site-generate/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- scaffold a new Experience Cloud LWR site from the Build Your Own template
- add a page by creating a route and its view
- set brand colors, fonts and styling tokens for a site
- expose records to unauthenticated visitors with `sharingGuestRules`
- debug a failed Experience LWR metadata deployment

## Example prompts
- Create a new LWR Experience Cloud site from talon-template-byo, site name My Community
- Add a catalog page to the site: a route and a view with a list component
- Set up a guest sharing rule on Case so unauthenticated visitors can see their own cases
