## What it does

The skill runs the whole path: it finds the content type, resolves the workspace, dispatches the create call and shows the result. From there you can edit a record with `update_cms_content_variant` or publish it with `publish_content`. Records from earlier sessions work too — pass a `managedContentVariantId` or `managedContentId` and the skill picks up from there.

Generation happens server-side. `create_cms_content` takes the goal or edit instruction as `prompt`, and the server builds and validates the body against the schema before returning the stored record. The agent never walks the schema, assembles `contentBody` or regenerates rejected fields. Bulk is covered as well: several records go out in parallel, and you can publish all of them or a subset.

What you need in place: the `sf` CLI at version 2.0.0 or higher, the `content-write` and `content-readonly` MCP tools, and API version 64.0 as the floor. Defining a content type is a different job — that belongs to `experience-cms-content-type-generate`. Deletion is owned by this skill and routes to a hard stop, so a delete request will not quietly go through.

## Requirements
- Works with: Salesforce

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-cms-content-generate -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/experience-cms-content-generate/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/experience-cms-content-generate/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-cms-content-generate -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/experience-cms-content-generate/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-cms-content-generate -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/experience-cms-content-generate/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install forcedotcom/sf-skills experience-cms-content-generate
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/experience-cms-content-generate/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-cms-content-generate -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills --path skills/experience-cms-content-generate
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/experience-cms-content-generate/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill experience-cms-content-generate -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/experience-cms-content-generate/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- create a CMS record from a free-text description
- draft several records of one type in parallel
- edit an existing record by its variantId
- publish only part of a batch
- remove a content record without hand-building the call

## Example prompts
- create a news item about the new pricing tier
- create 5 Article records about integrations
- publish the record 8a1b...

description: "Creates, edits, and publishes Salesforce CMS content of any kind — any domain, any topic. Single and bulk: create many in parallel, edit one or many, publish all or a subset. Use this skill ANY TIME a user asks to create, generate, write, draft, author, or add content, OR to update, edit, or revise a content record, OR to publish it, OR to delete/remove a content record. Triggers like \"create a <thing> about X\", \"create 5 <things>\", \"update content <id>\", \"publish content <id>\", \"publish the record <id>\", \"make <id> live\", \"delete content <id>\" — where <thing> is any user-named content type. Activates FIRST whenever content authoring, editing, publishing, or deletion is mentioned, regardless of subject. Handles the full workflow: finding the content type, resolving the workspace, creating content, editing or publishing it — including a record identified by its variantId. Does not apply to defining a content type / schema (use experience-cms-content-type-generate), cloning, versioning, workspaces, or media."

# Creating CMS Content

Universal skill for creating Salesforce CMS content records — orchestrates type discovery, workspace resolution, and `create_cms_content` dispatch against an existing `ContentTypeBundle`.

**Content generation is server-side, always.** `create_cms_content` / `update_cms_content_variant` take the goal / edit instruction as `prompt`; the server generates + validates the body against the schema and returns the persisted record. Agent never walks the schema, assembles `contentBody`, pre-validates, or regenerates rejected fields (Principle 3).

## Scope

**Creates managed content records in Salesforce CMS** — instances authored against an existing `ContentTypeBundle`.
