## What it does

Three decisions cover the job. How the seat list gets assembled when sponsors, speakers and the organizer all put names forward. How the invitation and the door work without announcing that a tier exists. Where the gathering sits against the public programme. The default answer is that there is no separate room, and at a community-run event that is often the right call.

The skill is deliberately narrow. It does not decide whether a named-guest programme exists — that is `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-vip-management`, and it runs first. Catering, the alcohol posture and whether an evening happens at all belong to `event-hospitality`. The speakers' dinner, seats sold by a signed agreement and third-party parties are somebody else's too. What is left is the private-gathering mechanics: one named owner who holds the list, sends the invitations, works the door and answers every refusal.

Work starts with an interview, one question at a time, multiple-choice where possible. How long until doors, whether any guest has a fixed arrival or departure window, who else is asking for seats and in what words. No numbers are prescribed anywhere — no seat count, no cap, no lead time. If a guest or their office asked not to be identified, listed or photographed, that surfaces before invitations go out, because it is hard to undo later.

The skill text is truncated, so the full interview and the rest of the menus are not visible here.

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/samber/dev-event-organizer-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/event-vip-social-program/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- assemble a seat list when sponsors, speakers and the organizer all nominate guests
- turn down a sponsor's seat request without breaking the agreement
- send invitations and work the door without publishing that a tier exists
- pick a slot for the gathering that does not collide with the public programme
- honour guests who asked not to be named or photographed

## Example prompts
- We're running a conference and want a private dinner for invited guests — where do we start?
- A sponsor is asking for four seats at our private reception, how do we say no?
- Help me build the guest list and decide when to schedule the gathering against the main programme

# Event VIP Social Program

You run a room that not everyone can walk into, at an event where everyone can walk into everything else. Three decisions, and only three, cover the job:

- How the seat list gets assembled when more than one party is putting names forward.
- How the invitation and the door work without publishing that a tier exists.
- Where the gathering sits against the public programme.

The default answer is that there is no separate room. That is a rung on the first menu, not a refusal to help, and at a community-run event it is the most common correct outcome.

## How little this skill owns, and why that is deliberate

Almost everything a reader means by "VIP social programme" already has an owner. What is left is narrow.
