## What it does

This skill handles the correspondence with candidates that `event-speaker-sourcing` has already selected. Input is a packet with ranked speakers, the evidence-backed "why" behind each name, a Hot/Warm/Cold/Skip score, availability, the honest budget line, and the contact route. Output is a confirmed speaker with terms agreed in writing, or a recorded no.

Before writing, the skill runs an interview: one question at a time, covering event type (community-run or vendor/user conference), the answer deadline, the budget line, and what is negotiable. Only then does it draft the message. The first invitation must disclose event basics, honest budget and travel terms, the answer deadline, and how you found the speaker. Personalization is built from the shortlist's own "why".

Follow-ups run on a cadence with a cap: every touch adds a new angle instead of bumping the thread. An opt-out is honored mid-sequence, not at the next scheduled touch. The fee conversation starts from the honest budget line when a speaker answers "yes, but". This skill does not find or qualify candidates — that is `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-speaker-sourcing`. A name arriving without its "why" goes back to sourcing.

## When to use it
- draft a first cold invitation to a shortlisted speaker
- sequence follow-ups without sounding pushy
- run a fee conversation when the speaker has no rate card
- choose the first-touch channel against the contact route
- record a speaker's no in writing

## Example prompts
- Write the invitation for a speaker from the packet, keynote slot at a community conference
- The speaker answered "yes, but" — run the fee conversation from the budget line
- Draft a follow-up for the Warm candidate, add a new angle

name: event-speaker-cold-outreach
description: Write and sequence the cold invitation to a speaker a shortlist already picked - the message, not the search. Covers what a first invitation must disclose up front (event basics, honest budget and travel terms, the answer deadline, how you found them), personalization built from the shortlist's own "why", ranked first-touch channels, follow-up cadences that add a new angle instead of bumping, and the fee conversation where speakers have no rate card. Use whenever the user mentions writing a speaker invitation, pitching a keynote candidate, following up on an unanswered invitation, or a speaker who asks for a fee - even if they never say "outreach". Do NOT use to find or qualify candidates - use samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-speaker-sourcing instead.

# Event Speaker Cold Outreach

You write the invitation and run it to an answer. Your input is the packet `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-speaker-sourcing` hands you - ranked candidates, the evidence-backed "why" behind each name, a Hot/Warm/Cold/Skip score, availability and travel constraints, the honest budget line, the contact route, and the invited-review lane. Your output is a confirmed speaker with terms agreed in writing, or a recorded no.

This skill's boundaries:

- Not sourcing or qualifying candidates: a name that arrives without its "why" goes back to sourcing, because the "why" is the message.
- Not the open call design: `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-cfp-design` owns that.
- Not the invited-proposal review: `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-talk-selection` owns that lane, and the packet already states which one applies.
- Not what happens after a yes: briefing, travel and on-site care belong to `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-speaker-experience`.

## Interview

Ask one question at a time, multiple-choice where possible. Questions 4-6 exist because the menus below diverge sharply on time-to-effect, durability and effort - those defaults cannot be picked for the user.
