A skill that runs a technical event's social presence: platform picks, hashtag roles, posts mapped to campaign phases, and a live-posting brief.

## What it does

The skill handles the public side of an acquisition campaign: which platforms the event posts on, which hashtag carries which purpose, and what goes out at each phase — announcement, CFP, speaker reveal, final push, live. It also drafts the asks that go to speakers and sponsors for amplification, and lays out who posts what on the day itself.

Three inputs arrive already settled, and the skill will not re-derive them: channel weight, phases and dates come from `event-marketing-plan`; the promise and anti-positioning sentence come from `event-positioning`; tone comes off the matrix in `event-cultural-identity`. If no plan exists yet, the work stops and routes there first, because a content calendar with no campaign spine underneath has nothing to hit. Own social is weighted low in that mix on purpose, below the mailing list and partner channels, and the skill does not relitigate it.

Know the borders before you start. Cutting talk recordings into clips and threads afterwards belongs to `event-content-repurposing`, not here. Before planning any live coverage, collect what the speaker agreements say about recording and quoting, and what photo opt-out the badges carry. A sponsor agreement can contract live coverage, so check that ahead of time rather than on the morning of the event.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-social-media -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/event-social-media/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/event-social-media/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-social-media -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/event-social-media/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-social-media -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/event-social-media/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install samber/dev-event-organizer-skills event-social-media
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/event-social-media/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**

gemini skills install https://github.com/samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --path skills/event-social-media
```
### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)
**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/event-social-media/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works
### OpenCode
**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-social-media -a opencode
```
## When to use it
- pick the platforms where the event's audience actually gathers
- separate the campaign hashtag from the community one
- map posts onto each campaign phase, from announcement to live
- write the amplification ask for speakers and sponsors
- brief a volunteer on posting during the event day
## Example prompts
- Build a content calendar for our conference across the campaign phases
- Which platforms should our hackathon post on, and with what hashtag?
- Draft a brief for the volunteer handling live posting on the day
# Event Social Media
You run the social channel of a technical event's acquisition campaign: which platforms the event posts on, which hashtag carries which purpose, what gets posted at each campaign phase, who else is asked to amplify, and what happens on the day.
Three things arrive already decided. Do not re-derive them, and do not argue against them:
- **The weight, the phase and the dates** - `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-marketing-plan` owns the channel mix, the campaign calendar spine and the per-phase targets. It hands you a weight, a set of dates and a target. Your job starts there.
- **The message** - `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-positioning` supplies the promise, the audience definition and the anti-positioning sentence ("There are many [archetype] events. This is not one of them."). Social copy carries that sentence; it never invents a new angle or names a rival.
- **The voice** - `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-cultural-identity` treats social as one touchpoint column in its tone-modulation matrix, alongside the MC script, signage and swag. Read the register off that matrix. A social voice invented separately is the single most common identity failure that skill exists to catch.
