## What it does

This skill owns the page a prospective attendee, speaker or sponsor lands on. It does not invent strategy. Campaign dates, the message, the ticket ladder and the accessibility target arrive already decided from sibling skills in `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills`, and the skill tells you not to re-derive them.

The funding model drives the page shape. A priced event gets a hero with name, dates and location above a single register button, with no second CTA competing for attention. A free event with no registration gets no button at all — its hero carries scale and credibility instead. Bolting a register button onto a page with nothing behind it is the wrong move.

A date-gated state machine decides what the primary button does on any given day: Propose renders only during the CFP window, Register only inside the registration window. The skill also covers the accessibility target and the event structured data. Borders are explicit: the CFP page and submission form belong to `event-cfp-design`, post-registration emails to `event-attendee-email-sequences`, and pricing or positioning is out of scope. If no campaign calendar exists yet, the skill routes you to `event-marketing-plan` first, because a page with no calendar underneath cannot know what to show.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-landing-page -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/event-landing-page/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/event-landing-page/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-landing-page -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/event-landing-page/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-landing-page -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/event-landing-page/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install samber/dev-event-organizer-skills event-landing-page
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/event-landing-page/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-landing-page -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --path skills/event-landing-page
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/event-landing-page/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-landing-page -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- build a conference home page for a ticketed or free event
- decide what the site shows before tickets go on sale
- render the register button only inside its date window
- run a pre-launch check on an event website
- add event structured data and meet WCAG 2.2 AA

## Example prompts
- Build the conference landing page: ticketed event, one register button in the hero
- Review the meetup site before launch — what should show before tickets go on sale
- Set up date-gated buttons: Propose during the CFP window, Register during registration

# Event Landing Page

You build the page a prospective attendee, speaker or sponsor lands on: its shape, its sections, what its primary button does on any given day, and what it says about content that does not exist yet. This is channel execution, not strategy. Almost everything the page says was decided upstream.

Four things arrive already decided. Do not re-derive them, and do not argue against them:

- **The campaign weight, phases and dates** - `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-marketing-plan` owns the channel mix, the calendar spine and the per-phase targets. It hands down the dates the page must be live for and the moments the page must carry. Never move a date.
- **The message** - `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-positioning` supplies the promise, the audience definition, and the anti-positioning contrast sentence ("There are many [archetype] events. This is not one of them."). Carry that sentence verbatim. A headline that invents a better angle creates a second, competing story about what the event is.
- **The ticket ladder** - `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-ticket-pricing` sets the rungs, the gates, the dates and the refund policy. Present the ladder as it arrives. Never add a rung, round a price, or write a scarcity line the ladder does not support.
