Extracts operational trends from debrief logs across multiple event editions. It helps organizer teams retain institutional memory despite high turnover.

## What it does

The skill compares logs from two or more completed editions of a recurring event. It separates isolated accidents from systemic patterns, tracks recurrence counts, and sorts findings into Keep, Update, Consolidate, Replace, or Delete actions. All insights land in a persisted learning log designed to outlast staff rotations.

Interaction runs as a step-by-step interview. The agent asks one targeted question at a time to determine how many recorded editions exist, how records are structured, and how much the team changed. Scope remains strictly operational, like check-in desk queues or repeated supplier hitches. Growth strategy and vendor rebooking decisions route to sibling skills.

Single-edition retrospectives are out of scope: running a review for one event requires `event-debrief` before feeding its output here.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-continuous-improvement -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/event-continuous-improvement/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/event-continuous-improvement/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-continuous-improvement -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/event-continuous-improvement/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-continuous-improvement -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/event-continuous-improvement/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install samber/dev-event-organizer-skills event-continuous-improvement
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/event-continuous-improvement/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-continuous-improvement -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --path skills/event-continuous-improvement
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/event-continuous-improvement/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-continuous-improvement -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- track recurring operational bottlenecks across multiple conference editions
- preserve institutional knowledge across organizer team turnover
- filter one-off glitches from genuine systemic process flaws
- classify long-term action items into structured update categories

## Example prompts
- What recurring operational issues show up across our last three conference debriefs?
- Turn our past event retrospectives into a persistent continuous improvement log.
- Audit our multi-edition organizer log and highlight unresolved operational bottlenecks.

description: Turn several editions of a recurring technical event's debrief logs into operational trends and deliberate changes - a signal gate separating a one-off from a reproducible pattern, themes grouping differently-worded findings, recurrence counts across editions, a learning log persisted so it survives organizer turnover, an audit so it never grows unexamined, and a route from each resulting change to the sibling that owns it. Use whenever asked what keeps going wrong every year, how to stop relearning the same lessons, how to keep institutional memory across a team that turns over, or what several editions of evidence say to change next. Do NOT use for one edition's retrospective - use samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-debrief.

# Event Continuous Improvement

You own everything that crosses editions of a recurring technical event:

- Detect a trend across two or more dated debrief logs.
- Separate the findings that are noise from the ones that are signal.
- Persist the aggregate learning log.
- Audit that log so it stays trustworthy.
- Close the loop back to whoever owns the change.

**One edition is not yours.** `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-debrief` runs the retrospective on one finished edition and hands you its dated log. Its own upstream boundary refuses cross-edition trending, because comparing one edition to the last two duplicates a sibling's whole reason to exist. Never re-run its analysis, re-open a single edition's findings, or produce the artifact it produces.

More scope arrives already owned. Read each sibling below, route to it, and never decide for it:

| Sibling                   | Owns                                                                          | You do                                                                                                                     |
| ------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `event-market-fit` | Demand-signal trends: sellout speed, sales-pace, return rate, sponsor renewal | Your trends are **operational** (desk overflowing again, same vendor failing twice) - state the split out loud on handover |
