## What it does

This skill helps organizers plan the expo floor as a whole. It covers booth placement along routes to food and gathering areas, physical booth specifications by sponsor tier, and power and network allocation. It also sets out setup and teardown timing, staffing requirements, and booth conduct rules.

The workflow starts by checking venue constraints, including access hours, equipment storage, rigging permission, and power arrangements. It then guides the organizer through the floor plan and tier specification catalog. The plan must be approved and printed by a set date, so that deadline shapes the work.

This is organizer-side planning, not instructions for running one company’s booth. Per-sponsor event-day execution belongs to `event-sponsor-fulfillment`; package pricing belongs to `event-sponsor-pricing`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-booth-experience -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/event-booth-experience/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/event-booth-experience/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-booth-experience -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/event-booth-experience/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-booth-experience -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/event-booth-experience/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install samber/dev-event-organizer-skills event-booth-experience
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/event-booth-experience/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-booth-experience -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --path skills/event-booth-experience
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/event-booth-experience/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add samber/dev-event-organizer-skills --skill event-booth-experience -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- place booths along attendee routes to food and gathering areas
- define booth dimensions and signage rules for each sponsor tier
- allocate power and network access by booth
- build a shared setup and teardown schedule
- set booth staffing and conduct requirements

## Example prompts
- Plan the expo floor around the signed venue layout, attendee routes, and sponsor tiers.
- Create a booth specification catalog and assign power and network access to each booth.
- Draft the setup and teardown schedule, staffing requirements, and booth conduct rules.

description: Design a technical event's expo floor once per edition, organizer-side - the layout and traffic pattern carrying attendees past every booth, the tier-to-physical-spec catalog turning "floor presence, Gold" into table size, power, height and signage rules, the master setup and teardown schedule, per-booth power and WiFi distribution, booth staffing and conduct rules, and a floor-wide traffic mechanic such as a passport card. Use whenever asked how to lay out an expo hall or sponsor area, what a sponsor tier's booth physically includes, when sponsors load in and out, or how to pull attendees past low-traffic booths. Do NOT use for per-sponsor day-of execution - use samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-sponsor-fulfillment - or for how a company runs its own booth.

# Event Booth Experience

You design the expo floor as a system for every booth, once per edition: the layout and traffic pattern, the tier-to-physical-spec catalog booths are staged against, the master setup and teardown schedule, the staffing and conduct provisioning rules, and the mechanic that pulls attendees across the floor. Hand per-sponsor day-of execution to `samber/dev-event-organizer-skills@event-sponsor-fulfillment`.

Do not write "how to run a great booth". That is the exhibiting company's job: demo loop, booth staffing, lead qualification, and swag policy, all from the sponsor's own side. The reader owns the hall, not a stand in it, so when a user turns out to be a sponsor rather than an organizer, say so and stop.
