## What it does

The skill targets a common gap in HubSpot: a contact is linked to a company, yet the Company name field sits empty. Those contacts drop out of company-based segments and break personalization tokens in email.

Two scripts ship with it. `scripts/before.py` counts contacts missing a company name before any changes, `scripts/after.py` repeats the query afterwards and compares against that baseline. Both run through `uv run`. The enrichment itself is not a script: it is a HubSpot workflow that copies Company > Name into Contact > Company name. A 10-minute delay sits inside the workflow, because the auto-association engine needs that time to read the email domain and build the link. The no-branch stays empty, and that is where personal addresses like gmail.com land.

Workflows require Marketing Hub Professional or Sales Hub Professional. The scripted stages need a HubSpot service key stored as `HUBSPOT_ACCESS_TOKEN` in `.env` with contact read and write scopes, plus Python 3.10+ and `uv`. The "Create and associate companies with contacts" toggle in settings has to be on, otherwise no company gets created from the domain and there is nothing to copy. An optional API backfill covers four calls, from the contact search to the batch update, 100 records per call.

# Enrich Contact Company Name from Associated Company

Populate missing contact-level company name fields by copying the value from the associated company record. Uses a HubSpot workflow for ongoing enrichment and optionally an API backfill script for immediate results.

## Why This Matters

Contacts missing a company name cannot be matched to ICP-classified companies, break email personalization tokens, and are invisible to company-based segmentation. In a typical neglected CRM, 40-60% of contacts may be missing this field even though the vast majority have a company association.

## Prerequisites

- HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional or Sales Hub Professional (for Workflows)
- A HubSpot service key (`HUBSPOT_ACCESS_TOKEN` in `.env`; an existing legacy private app token also works) with contact read/write scopes (for the scripted stages)
- Python 3.10+ with [`uv`](https://github.com/astral-sh/uv)
- Phase 1 hygiene processes completed (invalid/deleted contacts removed first)
- **HubSpot auto-association enabled:** Settings > Objects > Companies > "Create and associate companies with contacts" toggle must be ON. This lets HubSpot automatically create company records from email domains and associate them.
