## What it does

This skill matches email addresses to contact profiles containing names, titles, and companies. It can also run in reverse to find business emails, personal addresses, and phone numbers for known contacts. Operations run against Crustdata Code Mode MCP through a six-phase waterfall, starting with free domain lookups in `company_identify` before moving to paid tools like `person_enrich` and web search.

Execution happens inside plain JavaScript scripts passed to `execute({ code })`. Type annotations break the whole run. Do not put `: Type`, `as`, or `interface` keywords into the generated code, because the engine rejects TypeScript syntax.

The skill parses CSV files, `.xlsx` spreadsheets, or inline text. It sorts emails into work, edu, and personal buckets, extracts names from prefixes, and uses commit history when hunting for technical talent.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add crustdata/skills --skill email-enrichment -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/email-enrichment/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/email-enrichment/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add crustdata/skills --skill email-enrichment -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/email-enrichment/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add crustdata/skills --skill email-enrichment -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/email-enrichment/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install crustdata/skills email-enrichment
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/email-enrichment/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add crustdata/skills --skill email-enrichment -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/crustdata/skills --path skills/email-enrichment
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/email-enrichment/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add crustdata/skills --skill email-enrichment -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- Turn email CSV lists into contact profiles with company details
- Find business emails and phone numbers for specific individuals
- Resolve company details from email domains without credit charges
- Track developer contact info using commit history fallbacks

## Example prompts
- Here's a CSV of 500 emails from our calendar events. Who are these people?
- Identify the people behind these personal Gmail addresses
- Find business emails and phone numbers for these 10 investors

# Email Enrichment

Two directions, one skill:

1. **Email to person** - Turn a list of email addresses into rich contact profiles (name, title, company, profile URL). Uses a six-phase waterfall optimized for coverage and accuracy.
2. **Person to email** - Find business emails, personal emails, and phone numbers for a list of people. Uses enrichment with personal contact info, plus a commit-history fallback for technical people.

## Overview

The approach uses six phases in a strict waterfall. Each phase catches emails that earlier phases missed. The phases are ordered by cost (free first, then cheapest) and reliability (highest precision first).

All Crustdata work runs inside `execute({ code })` scripts — write a short plain-JavaScript script whose only I/O is `const r = await callTool("<tool>", params)`, then branch on `r.ok`. Author it against the TypeScript-typed tool surface from `get_schema`, but put NO type annotations in the body — a `: Type`, `as`, or `interface` is a parse error that fails the whole run. See the per-phase scripts below.

| Phase | Crustdata tool (via `callTool`) | Targets | Cost |
|-------|----------|---------|------|
| 1 | `company_identify` | Work + Edu emails | FREE |
| 2 | `person_enrich` (`business_emails`) + post-verification | Work + Edu | ~1-2 cr/profile |
| 2 (personal) | `batch_person_identify` (async) | Personal | 1 cr/matched |
| 3 | `person_search` (name+company) | Missed work/edu | ~0.03 cr/result |
| 4 | `person_search` (name only) | Remaining personal | ~0.03 cr/result |
| 5 | `web_search_live` + `person_enrich` | ALL remaining | 1 cr/query + enrich |
| 6 | Scoring gate | ALL candidates from Phases 3-5 | N/A |
