## What it does

The skill hands the agent domain context for education technology. It covers learning management systems, student information systems, adaptive platforms and virtual classrooms, then walks through the standards: SCORM, xAPI, LTI, QTI, plus WCAG and Section 508 accessibility.

There is Python code too. One example models an LMS: courses, students, enrollments with statuses, capacity and prerequisite checks, transcript generation, GPA calculation. The other builds an assessment engine with an abstract question class, multiple choice grading and essays that go to manual review.

Allowed tools are `Read`, `Write` and `Edit`, so the skill reads and edits files but runs nothing. The source text stops partway through the assessment statistics analysis, so treat that section as a starting point rather than a finished feature. If your project already has its own grading layer, the examples need reworking to fit it.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add personamanagmentlayer/pcl --skill education-expert -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/education-expert/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/education-expert/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add personamanagmentlayer/pcl --skill education-expert -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/education-expert/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add personamanagmentlayer/pcl --skill education-expert -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/education-expert/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install personamanagmentlayer/pcl education-expert
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/education-expert/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add personamanagmentlayer/pcl --skill education-expert -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/personamanagmentlayer/pcl --path stdlib/domains/education-expert
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/education-expert/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add personamanagmentlayer/pcl --skill education-expert -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/personamanagmentlayer/pcl/tree/HEAD/stdlib/domains/education-expert/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- model courses, students and enrollments for an LMS
- enforce capacity and prerequisite checks at enrollment
- generate a student transcript and compute GPA
- split automatic test grading from manual essay review
- pick between SCORM, xAPI and LTI for content delivery

## Example prompts
- Design the database schema for an LMS: courses, students, enrollments with statuses
- Write an assessment engine with multiple choice questions and essays for manual grading
- How do we wire a SCORM package into our platform, and what does xAPI add?
