## What it does

The skill covers the whole pipeline lifecycle in DevOps Center: list pipelines, read one pipeline's details, create a pipeline tied to a Git repository, add and delete stages, rename a stage, add or remove Salesforce environments on stages, attach and detach projects, activate and deactivate. Everything goes through `sf devops pipeline` and `sf devops stage` with `--json` output, so a script can parse the result.

Stages form a linked list. Order comes from `nextStageId`, and the terminal stage has `nextStageId: null`. That is why the skill resolves IDs with `sf devops pipeline get` before touching any stage or environment. On create, `--name` and `--repo` are always required; the rest depends on the repo scenario. An existing repository takes only the URL, a new GitHub repo needs `--repo-owner`, a new Bitbucket repo needs `--bitbucket-workspace`. Drop the provider's required flag and the create fails.

You need `sf` 2.0.0 or newer and `jq` 1.6 or newer, plus a target org with DevOps Center enabled — the skill checks access through `OrgPreferences.ALMDevopsCorePref` and `UserPermissions.UserHasDevOpsCore`. Confirm the org is authenticated first with `sf org display --json`; otherwise run `sf org login web --set-default --alias <alias>`. Work-item lifecycle, promotion and deployment execution, conflict detection and standalone project creation are out of scope here and live in separate skills.

## Requirements
- Works with: Salesforce

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill dx-devops-pipeline-manage -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/dx-devops-pipeline-manage/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/dx-devops-pipeline-manage/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill dx-devops-pipeline-manage -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/dx-devops-pipeline-manage/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill dx-devops-pipeline-manage -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/dx-devops-pipeline-manage/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install forcedotcom/sf-skills dx-devops-pipeline-manage
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/dx-devops-pipeline-manage/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill dx-devops-pipeline-manage -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills --path skills/dx-devops-pipeline-manage
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/dx-devops-pipeline-manage/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill dx-devops-pipeline-manage -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- create a release pipeline against a Git repository
- insert a UAT stage before production
- connect an environment to a specific stage
- attach a project to a pipeline
- activate continuous delivery once the chain is set up

## Example prompts
- list all pipelines in the org
- create a pipeline named Release on repo myorg/myrepo
- add a UAT stage before Production in pipeline 0XB...

# DevOps Center Pipeline Management

Manages the complete pipeline lifecycle in DevOps Center — from creation against a repository, through stage and environment configuration and project attachment, to activation of a ready-to-promote release pipeline. Provides headless CLI-driven operations for autonomous release workflows.

## Scope

- **In scope**: List pipelines, get pipeline details, create a pipeline (linked to an existing or new Git repo), add/delete/rename stages, add/delete Salesforce environments on stages, attach/detach projects, and activate/deactivate/rename the pipeline
- **Out of scope**: Work-item lifecycle, promotion/deployment execution, conflict detection, standalone project creation (separate skills)

---

## Required Inputs

Gather or infer before proceeding:

- **Operation type**: list, get, create, add-stage, delete-stage, rename-stage, add-environment, delete-environment, attach-project, detach-project, activate, or deactivate
