## What it does

Guides AI assistants through diagnosing and resolving Swift concurrency errors targeting Swift 6.2 and newer toolchains. The workflow prioritizes minimal safe code interventions: gathering diagnostic context, adjusting actor boundaries or conformances, and verifying the build without unnecessary `@unchecked Sendable` or `nonisolated(unsafe)` workarounds.

It covers approachable concurrency features like default `MainActor` isolation (SE-0466) and `nonisolated(nonsending)` execution (SE-0461). Because `nonisolated` async methods stay on the caller actor by default in Swift 6.2+, offloading CPU-heavy work to background threads requires pairing a nonisolated context with the explicit `@concurrent` attribute.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dpearson2699/swift-ios-skills --skill swift-concurrency -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/swift-concurrency/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/swift-concurrency/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dpearson2699/swift-ios-skills --skill swift-concurrency -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/swift-concurrency/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dpearson2699/swift-ios-skills --skill swift-concurrency -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/swift-concurrency/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install dpearson2699/swift-ios-skills swift-concurrency
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/swift-concurrency/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dpearson2699/swift-ios-skills --skill swift-concurrency -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/dpearson2699/swift-ios-skills --path skills/swift-concurrency
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/swift-concurrency/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dpearson2699/swift-ios-skills --skill swift-concurrency -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- resolve compiler diagnostics for Sendable conformance
- configure default MainActor isolation under SE-0466
- fix actor isolation warnings in Swift 6 strict mode
- offload heavy synchronous operations to background threads using @concurrent

## Example prompts
- Fix this Sendable warning when passing state across actors in Swift 6
- Refactor this CPU-heavy method to run off the MainActor using @concurrent
- Adopt default MainActor isolation for our application target
