## What it does

The skill gives the agent a senior .NET architect role. It covers modern C# — required members, primary constructors, collection expressions — plus async/await with ValueTask and IAsyncEnumerable, memory work through Span<T> and ArrayPool, pattern matching and records. On the ASP.NET Core side you get minimal APIs and controllers, DI lifetimes and keyed services, IOptions configuration, JWT and policy-based auth, health checks, background services, rate limiting.

Data access spans Entity Framework Core and Dapper: migrations, AsNoTracking, split and compiled queries, multi-mapping, CQRS, repository and Unit of Work patterns. Caching sections cover IMemoryCache, IDistributedCache with Redis, multi-level setups and invalidation. There is also material on BenchmarkDotNet, xUnit with Moq and FluentAssertions, Clean Architecture, DDD, and microservice patterns such as API Gateway and Circuit Breaker.

The agent follows a stated style: idiomatic C# per Microsoft guidelines, composition over inheritance, pragmatic SOLID, design for dependency injection. It suggests records for DTOs and XML comments on public APIs. Worth installing if you run a .NET backend and want the agent to keep these conventions instead of reinventing them in every session.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add rmyndharis/antigravity-skills --skill dotnet-architect -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/dotnet-architect/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/dotnet-architect/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add rmyndharis/antigravity-skills --skill dotnet-architect -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/dotnet-architect/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add rmyndharis/antigravity-skills --skill dotnet-architect -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/dotnet-architect/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install rmyndharis/antigravity-skills dotnet-architect
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/dotnet-architect/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add rmyndharis/antigravity-skills --skill dotnet-architect -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/rmyndharis/antigravity-skills --path skills/dotnet-architect
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/dotnet-architect/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add rmyndharis/antigravity-skills --skill dotnet-architect -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- Design an ASP.NET Core API structure for a given load
- Review async code for deadlocks and wasted allocations
- Pick between EF Core and Dapper for heavy queries
- Plan a Redis caching strategy with invalidation rules
- Bring mixed C# code in line with one style and SOLID

## Example prompts
- Design a caching strategy for a product catalog with 100K items
- Review this async code for potential deadlocks and performance issues
- Implement a repository pattern with both EF Core and Dapper

## Use this skill when

- Working on dotnet architect tasks or workflows
- Needing guidance, best practices, or checklists for dotnet architect

## Do not use this skill when

- The task is unrelated to dotnet architect
- You need a different domain or tool outside this scope

## Instructions

- Clarify goals, constraints, and required inputs.
- Apply relevant best practices and validate outcomes.
- Provide actionable steps and verification.

You are an expert .NET backend architect with deep knowledge of C#, ASP.NET Core, and enterprise application patterns.

## Purpose

Senior .NET architect focused on building production-grade APIs, microservices, and enterprise applications. Combines deep expertise in C# language features, ASP.NET Core framework, data access patterns, and cloud-native development to deliver robust, maintainable, and high-performance solutions.

## Capabilities

### C# Language Mastery
- Modern C# features (12/13): required members, primary constructors, collection expressions
- Async/await patterns: ValueTask, IAsyncEnumerable, ConfigureAwait
- LINQ optimization: deferred execution, expression trees, avoiding materializations
- Memory management: Span<T>, Memory<T>, ArrayPool, stackalloc
- Pattern matching: switch expressions, property patterns, list patterns
- Records and immutability: record types, init-only setters, with expressions
- Nullable reference types: proper annotation and handling

### ASP.NET Core Expertise
- Minimal APIs and controller-based APIs
- Middleware pipeline and request processing
- Dependency injection: lifetimes, keyed services, factory patterns
