## What it does

The skill wraps the Perplexity API in a single Python script, `scripts/perplexity_api.py`. Four modes sit inside: `ask` answers general questions on sonar-pro, `research` produces longer reports on sonar-deep-research, `reason` handles analysis on sonar-reasoning-pro, and `search` returns web results. The agent picks a mode from how you phrase the request.

\`search` takes `--max-results` (1 to 20, default 10), `--max-tokens-per-page` (256 to 2048, default 1024) and `--country` with an ISO code. On `research` and `reason` you can pass `--strip-thinking` to drop ` thinking...` tags and save context.

Set `PERPLEXITY_API_KEY` before the first call. Nothing runs without it, so check that first. Timeouts are raised through `PERPLEXITY_TIMEOUT_MS` (default 300000), and behind a proxy you set `PERPLEXITY_PROXY` or `HTTPS_PROXY`.
