Runs a background self-improvement loop using surplus model quota. It processes maintenance agendas in isolated worktrees via the ax tool.

## What it does

The skill directs leftover plan quota toward background upkeep tasks. It pulls items from `ax dojo agenda --json`, allowing the agent to resolve pending verdicts, backtest routing rules, and draft upstream bug reports. In Claude Code, the routine operates dynamically via `/loop`, while in Codex it runs as a single turn.

Safety rails prevent runaway edits. All code experiments run inside isolated `git worktree` directories. The agent cannot modify the `main` branch directly and never merges branches autonomously. Changes reach production only as minted proposals awaiting human review.

Running this loop requires the `ax` (`axctl`) binary on your system `PATH`. A dedicated database server is not needed because the storage layer relies on embedded DuckDB.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Necmttn/ax --skill dojo -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/dojo/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/dojo/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Necmttn/ax --skill dojo -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/dojo/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Necmttn/ax --skill dojo -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/dojo/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Necmttn/ax dojo
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/dojo/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Necmttn/ax --skill dojo -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Necmttn/ax --path skills/dojo
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/dojo/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Necmttn/ax --skill dojo -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/Necmttn/ax/tree/HEAD/skills/dojo/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- consume surplus model quota on background evaluations
- backtest routing policies against dispatch history
- stage upstream bug drafts without publishing directly
- isolate experimental edits within disposable git worktrees

## Example prompts
- \`/dojo`
- Train overnight and burn my surplus quota
- Run the self-improvement loop with `/loop /dojo`
