## What it does

The skill provides production-grade templates and guidelines for `docker-compose.yml` configurations. It defines explicit CPU and memory reservations and limits, service readiness conditions via `depends_on` with `service_healthy`, and segmented bridge networks separating the public frontend from internal backends.

Security hardening configurations drop Linux capabilities, enforce `no-new-privileges`, set read-only root filesystems where appropriate, and mount sensitive credentials using Docker secrets files instead of plain environment variables.

Because `user-invocable: false` is configured, the agent references these patterns automatically when tasks involve production deployments. You need existing secret files and certificate directories on the host, or the template containers will fail to bind mounts at startup.

## Requirements
- Works with: Docker

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TheBushidoCollective/han --skill docker-compose-production -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/docker-compose-production/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/docker-compose-production/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TheBushidoCollective/han --skill docker-compose-production -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/docker-compose-production/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TheBushidoCollective/han --skill docker-compose-production -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/docker-compose-production/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install TheBushidoCollective/han docker-compose-production
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/docker-compose-production/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TheBushidoCollective/han --skill docker-compose-production -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/TheBushidoCollective/han --path plugins/tools/docker-compose/skills/docker-compose-production
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/docker-compose-production/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TheBushidoCollective/han --skill docker-compose-production -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/TheBushidoCollective/han/tree/HEAD/plugins/tools/docker-compose/skills/docker-compose-production/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- isolate databases and cache services within an internal bridge network
- define CPU and memory limits and reservations for container services
- orchestrate startup order using health checks and service dependencies
- configure container log rotation with capped file sizes

## Example prompts
- Upgrade my docker-compose.yml for production with resource limits and health checks.
- Apply security hardening to the Nginx service with a read-only filesystem and dropped capabilities.
- Configure PostgreSQL with an automated backup container and Docker secrets for credentials.
