## What it does

The skill runs two filters at once. First it keeps companies with dividend growth of 12%+ a year and a yield of 1.5% or more, then narrows that list to names whose RSI has dropped to 40 or lower. The idea: the business keeps raising payouts while the price lags behind.

Everything runs through one Python script, `skills/dividend-growth-pullback-screener/scripts/screen_dividend_growth_rsi.py`. It has two modes. With `--use-finviz` it pre-screens through FINVIZ Elite and then runs detailed FMP analysis on the survivors. Without that flag it queries FMP directly, and the free tier cap of 250 requests a day becomes the real limit — pass `--max-candidates 40` or some calls will fail. Yield, dividend growth and RSI thresholds are set with `--min-yield`, `--min-div-growth` and `--rsi-max`.

You get two artifacts: a JSON file with all metrics and a markdown report with stock profiles, payout sustainability notes and entry-timing calls. For non-REITs, sustainability is confirmed only when the earnings payout sits below 80% and reported free cash flow is strictly above dividends paid; negative or zero FCF never confirms it. REITs need an explicit `isReit: true` or REIT industry identification, since the Real Estate sector alone is not enough. One caveat: in current packaged builds the CLI may reject `--output-dir`, and some versions write into the repository `logs/` directory even when launched elsewhere, so check the printed paths.

## When to use it
- find dividend stocks growing payouts 12%+ a year
- filter for RSI pullbacks without losing business quality
- check payout sustainability against free cash flow
- time an entry into a stock that just sold off
- run the screen inside the FMP free-tier request cap

## Example prompts
- run the dividend growth screen for stocks in an RSI pullback
- run screen_dividend_growth_rsi.py with --use-finviz and a 2.0 yield floor
- show the report for the qualified stocks with sustainability notes

description: Use this skill to find high-quality dividend growth stocks (12%+ annual dividend growth, 1.5%+ yield) that are experiencing temporary pullbacks, identified by RSI oversold conditions (RSI ≤40). # Dividend Growth Pullback Screener

## Overview

This skill screens for dividend growth stocks that exhibit strong fundamental characteristics but are experiencing temporary technical weakness. It targets stocks with exceptional dividend growth rates (12%+ CAGR) that have pulled back to RSI oversold levels (≤40), creating potential entry opportunities for long-term dividend growth investors.

**Investment Thesis:** High-quality dividend growth stocks (often yielding 1-2.5%) compound wealth through dividend increases rather than high current yield. Buying these stocks during temporary pullbacks (RSI ≤40) can enhance total returns by combining strong fundamental growth with favorable technical entry timing.

## When to Use This Skill

Use this skill when:
- Looking for dividend growth stocks with exceptional compounding potential (12%+ dividend CAGR)
- Seeking entry opportunities in quality stocks during temporary market weakness
- Willing to accept lower current yields (1.5-3%) for higher dividend growth
- Focusing on total return over 5-10 years rather than current income
- Market conditions show sector rotations or broad pullbacks affecting quality names

**Do NOT use when:**
- Seeking high current income (use value-dividend-screener instead)
- Requiring immediate dividend yields >3%
- Looking for deep value plays with strict P/E or P/B requirements
- Short-term trading focus (<6 months)
