## What it does

This skill teaches your AI agent how to query public DexScreener endpoints across 80+ blockchains. Requests need no API key and no authentication headers. Rate limits sit at approximately 300 requests per minute for pair data and 60 requests per minute for boost endpoints.

It covers token search by symbol or mint address, liquidity checks, and pair metrics. It also inspects recent paid token boosts. Output data includes liquidity figures, trading volume, and buy-sell transaction counts across windows from 5 minutes to 24 hours. Token prices arrive as strings to preserve numerical precision.

DexScreener returns current snapshots rather than time series. Historical OHLCV candles and WebSocket streams are absent, which rules out deep backtesting. Search results cap at around 30 pairs without pagination. For wallet profiling or smart contract security audits, you will need tools like Birdeye.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add agiprolabs/claude-trading-skills --skill dexscreener-api -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/dexscreener-api/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/dexscreener-api/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add agiprolabs/claude-trading-skills --skill dexscreener-api -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/dexscreener-api/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add agiprolabs/claude-trading-skills --skill dexscreener-api -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/dexscreener-api/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install agiprolabs/claude-trading-skills dexscreener-api
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/dexscreener-api/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add agiprolabs/claude-trading-skills --skill dexscreener-api -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/agiprolabs/claude-trading-skills --path skills/dexscreener-api
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/dexscreener-api/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add agiprolabs/claude-trading-skills --skill dexscreener-api -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/agiprolabs/claude-trading-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/dexscreener-api/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- fetch current token prices and liquidity across 80+ blockchains
- compare DEX pair pricing and 24h trading volume across chains
- calculate buy and sell transaction pressure over multiple timeframes
- find newly promoted tokens through the paid boost endpoint

## Example prompts
- Check current price and liquidity for BONK across DexScreener endpoints
- Find the highest liquidity pair for mint address So11111111111111111111111111111111111111112
- Calculate the buy and sell ratio over the past hour for a Solana pair

# DexScreener API — Free Multi-Chain DEX Data

DexScreener provides DEX pair data across 80+ chains with **no API key required**. Prices, volume, liquidity, transaction counts, and token profiles — all free. Best for quick lookups, cross-chain comparison, and lightweight monitoring.

## Quick Start

No authentication needed. Just make requests:

```python
import httpx
# Search for a token
resp = httpx.get("https://api.dexscreener.com/latest/dex/search", params={"q": "BONK"})
pairs = resp.json()["pairs"]
for p in pairs[:3]:
    print(f"{p['baseToken']['symbol']}/{p['quoteToken']['symbol']} on {p['chainId']}: ${p['priceUsd']}")
```

```bash
# Or with curl
curl "https://api.dexscreener.com/latest/dex/search?q=BONK"
```

## Base URL

`https://api.dexscreener.com`

No API key, no headers required. Rate limits: ~300 req/min for DEX data endpoints, 60 req/min for profile/boost endpoints.

## Core Endpoints

### Search Pairs

```python
# Search by token name, symbol, or address (returns ~30 pairs across all chains)
GET /latest/dex/search?q=BONK
GET /latest/dex/search?q=So11111111111111111111111111111111111111112
```

### Get Pairs by Chain + Pair Address

```python
# Single pair
GET /latest/dex/pairs/solana/PAIR_ADDRESS
# Multiple pairs (comma-separated)
GET /latest/dex/pairs/solana/PAIR1,PAIR2,PAIR3
```

### Get Pairs by Token Address

```python
# All pairs containing this token across all chains
GET /latest/dex/tokens/TOKEN_MINT_ADDRESS
# Chain-specific (v1)
GET /token-pairs/v1/solana/TOKEN_MINT
# Multiple tokens on one chain (v1)
GET /tokens/v1/solana/TOKEN1,TOKEN2,TOKEN3
```

### Token Profiles & Boosts

```python
# Latest token profiles (60 req/min)
GET /token-profiles/latest/v1
# Latest boosted tokens
GET /token-boosts/latest/v1
# Top boosted tokens (sorted by total boost amount)
GET /token-boosts/top/v1
# Token orders (ads, profile claims)
GET /orders/v1/solana/TOKEN_ADDRESS
# Community takeovers
GET /community-takeovers/latest/v1
```
