## What it does

The skill starts by reading the brief and setting a design direction, then follows a build, critique, and refinement cycle. Three dials shape the result: design variance, motion intensity, and visual density. Its guidance covers typography, color, responsive layouts, and component states.

Motion rules address timing, CSS properties, and `prefers-reduced-motion`. Keyboard-triggered actions should not be animated. That constraint matters when polishing interactions: every animation needs an alternative for users who request reduced motion.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add h3nryprod01/design-taste --skill design-taste -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/design-taste/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/design-taste/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add h3nryprod01/design-taste --skill design-taste -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/design-taste/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add h3nryprod01/design-taste --skill design-taste -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/design-taste/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install h3nryprod01/design-taste design-taste
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/design-taste/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add h3nryprod01/design-taste --skill design-taste -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/h3nryprod01/design-taste
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/design-taste/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add h3nryprod01/design-taste --skill design-taste -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/h3nryprod01/design-taste/tree/HEAD/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- derive a visual direction from a project brief
- check text hierarchy and color contrast
- revise spacing and page layout
- design focus, loading, and error states
- adapt interface motion for reduced-motion preferences

## Example prompts
- Review this landing page against the brief, choose a visual direction, and refine the interface.
- Audit this form for typography, contrast, and component states.
- Adjust the menu animation and account for `prefers-reduced-motion`.
