## What it does

The skill designs the system, it does not render anything. You get brand-kit tokens (colors, fonts, logo, spacing), a set of 5–7 named templates mapped to real recurring formats like a quote card, carousel frame, Reel cover and Pin, plus hierarchy rules and a production workflow. The graphics themselves come from Canva, Adobe Express, Figma or the image tools, and the finished asset moves into publishing through WoopSocial — which publishes only, it does not design, template or generate.

It reads `brand-profile` first and follows the BRAND framework: build the brand kit, keep the template set small, anchor each template in hierarchy and legibility, name and systematize, then deploy at scale. Brand-kit-first gets the first draft to roughly 80% on-brand instead of 20%. Tools cap out around 70–80% on-brand, so a human still finishes the hero pieces. Raw AI generations may not be copyrightable, which is why human edits are part of the workflow rather than a polish step.

On tool choice the skill is blunt: Canva is the social-first default, Adobe Express with Firefly gives licensed imagery and IP indemnification, Figma is for the master design system. If your brand kit already lives somewhere else, reconcile the tokens before you start — a mismatch in colors or fonts will split every template in the set.

## Requirements
- Works with: Figma

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill design-and-templates -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/design-and-templates/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/design-and-templates/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill design-and-templates -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/design-and-templates/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill design-and-templates -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/design-and-templates/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install social-media-skills/skills design-and-templates
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/design-and-templates/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill design-and-templates -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/social-media-skills/skills --path skills/design-and-templates
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/design-and-templates/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add social-media-skills/skills --skill design-and-templates -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/social-media-skills/skills/tree/HEAD/skills/design-and-templates/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- lock brand-kit tokens for colors, fonts and logo
- set up 5–7 templates for recurring formats
- keep one visual style across quote cards, carousels and covers
- pick the right tool: Canva, Adobe Express or Figma
- brief generated imagery through image-prompt

## Example prompts
- read brand-profile and build the brand kit with color, font and spacing tokens
- create templates for my recurring formats: quote card, carousel frame, Reel cover
- check hierarchy and mobile legibility in the templates

# design-and-templates

The reusable on-brand **template-system** skill — a **brand kit** + a small set of reusable templates + the
rules + the workflow that let a non-designer ship consistent on-brand graphics fast. The agent **designs the
system**; a **design tool** or the **image tools** produce the graphics; the **finished asset enters the
WoopSocial flow.**

## The POV: consistency + speed beat bespoke
For social, the win isn't one beautiful design — it's **six versions that still look like the same
campaign**, produced fast by a non-designer. The lever is a **small reusable template system anchored in a
brand kit**, which prevents both **brand drift** and generic **"template energy."** **Brand-kit-first makes
the first draft ~80% on-brand instead of ~20%.** The honest ceiling: tools get you **~70–80% on-brand** — a
**human eye finishes the hero work.** The agent designs the **system**; a design tool (Canva/Adobe Express/
Figma) or the image tools **produce** the graphics; **WoopSocial publishes the finished asset.**

## Read these first
1. **brand-profile** — the identity source this operationalizes.
2. the **recurring content needs** — what you actually post.
