## What it does

Cadence, idempotency and guardrails live in this skill. Execution does not. Every quote, approval, swap and signature goes through `swap-integration`, while accounts, clients and receipts belong to `viem-integration`. Install both first — the skill has nothing to call otherwise.

There is no scheduler inside. Your host wakes the skill on a cron entry or the runtime's own mechanism, and each wake is one run: read the JSON state file, decide, act, write back. A successful buy marks the current period, so extra wakes that same period exit without trading. A failed run leaves the period open for a retry later.

A price gate such as “buy only while ETH sits under a threshold” works out of the box, since the price comes from the Uniswap Trading API `/quote`. Conditions that need market data this API does not serve cannot be evaluated; the skill won't bolt on an outside feed. Before spending, it enforces spend caps per run and per period, a token allowlist and a kill switch. Unset caps block autonomous mode, leaving per-transaction confirmation. The wallet also needs enough of the funding token and native gas, or the buy is skipped.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Uniswap/uniswap-ai --skill dca-bot -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/dca-bot/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/dca-bot/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Uniswap/uniswap-ai --skill dca-bot -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/dca-bot/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Uniswap/uniswap-ai --skill dca-bot -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/dca-bot/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Uniswap/uniswap-ai dca-bot
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/dca-bot/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Uniswap/uniswap-ai --skill dca-bot -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Uniswap/uniswap-ai --path packages/plugins/uniswap-trading-tools/skills/dca-bot
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/dca-bot/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Uniswap/uniswap-ai --skill dca-bot -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/Uniswap/uniswap-ai/tree/HEAD/packages/plugins/uniswap-trading-tools/skills/dca-bot/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- set up a daily buy of a token at a fixed amount
- buy only after the asset drops below a price threshold
- avoid a duplicate purchase when the scheduler fires again
- cap spending for a single run and for a period
- skip the trade when the wallet can't cover amount plus gas

## Example prompts
- Set up a DCA: buy 50 USDC of ETH every day, but only while the price is below 3000 USDC
- Add a daily spend cap and show me what got written to the state file
- Check whether today's buy went through and don't repeat it

# DCA Bot

Dollar-cost-average a fixed amount into a token on a schedule on the operator's target chain, optionally gated on a price condition such as "only buy when ETH is below a threshold".

> **Runtime Compatibility:** This skill uses `AskUserQuestion` for interactive prompts (mode selection, per-transaction confirmation). If `AskUserQuestion` is not available in your runtime, collect the same parameters and confirmations through natural language conversation instead.

## Overview

This is a thin strategy layer. It owns cadence, idempotency, the optional condition check, and guardrails. It does NOT own execution. Every quote, approval, swap, and signature is delegated to `swap-integration` and `viem-integration`. The skill never builds quote, approval, swap, or signing logic itself.

The skill does not run a scheduler. The host agent's scheduler (a cron entry or the runtime's wake mechanism) invokes the skill on a cadence. Each invocation is a single, self-contained run that reads state, decides whether to act, optionally acts, and writes state.

## Prerequisites

- **swap-integration** (uniswap-trading): the only execution path. All swaps go through its Trading API flow (`check_approval` then `quote` then `swap`, then sign and broadcast). Do not reimplement any of it.
- **viem-integration** (uniswap-viem): accounts, clients, signing, transaction broadcast, and receipt waiting.

Read these plugin references before acting and treat them as ground truth:

- selected target-chain template: chainId, chain name, contract addresses, tradable token source, funding constraints, market-data availability, and template-specific caveats. For the reference Robinhood Chain template, see `../../references/robinhood-chain.md`.
- `../../references/execution-model.md`: the Trading API requirement, execution modes, restrictions, and disclaimer rules.
