## What it does

This skill covers dynamic application security testing, so the target is a live deployment rather than a codebase. It ships Docker invocations for OWASP ZAP: a quick baseline pass, a full scan, and an OpenAPI-driven API scan. There is also a YAML automation config that wires a context, form authentication and a job chain of spider, spiderAjax, passiveScan-wait, activeScan and report.

Burp Suite gets a Python class that talks to the REST API — start a scan, poll its status, pull the issues once it finishes. Nikto is called straight from the shell, with options for `-ssl`, `-Tuning` and HTML output. Two CI recipes are included: a GitHub Actions workflow using `zaproxy/action-full-scan`, and a GitLab CI job on a security stage that keeps reports as artifacts.

You need a running instance and network reach to it. Pointing any of this at a host you have no written permission to test turns a scan into an attack. ZAP runs through Docker; Burp expects an API key and the REST endpoint; Nikto installs with `apt-get install nikto`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills --skill dast-scanning -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/dast-scanning/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/dast-scanning/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills --skill dast-scanning -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/dast-scanning/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills --skill dast-scanning -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/dast-scanning/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills dast-scanning
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/dast-scanning/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills --skill dast-scanning -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills --path security/scanning/dast-scanning
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/dast-scanning/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills --skill dast-scanning -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/BagelHole/DevOps-Security-Agent-Skills/tree/HEAD/security/scanning/dast-scanning/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- run a baseline ZAP scan against a staging deployment
- test an API against its OpenAPI specification
- scan behind a login form with stored credentials
- sweep a host with Nikto across several ports
- add a DAST step to GitHub Actions or GitLab CI

## Example prompts
- Set up a baseline OWASP ZAP scan for https://target.example.com and write the report as HTML
- Build a `zap-automation.yaml` with spider, activeScan and form-based authentication
- Write a Python script that starts a Burp Suite scan, waits for succeeded and fetches the issues

# DAST Scanning

Test running applications for security vulnerabilities through dynamic analysis.

## When to Use This Skill

Use this skill when:
- Testing deployed applications
- Performing automated security scans
- Finding runtime vulnerabilities
- Testing authentication flows
- Validating API security

## Prerequisites

- Running application instance
- Network access to target
- Testing authorization
- Understanding of web security

## Tool Overview

| Tool | Type | Best For |
|------|------|----------|
| OWASP ZAP | OSS | Automated scanning, CI |
| Burp Suite | Commercial | Manual testing, advanced |
| Nikto | OSS | Web server scanning |
| Nuclei | OSS | Template-based scanning |
| Arachni | OSS | Comprehensive scanning |

## OWASP ZAP

### Docker Setup

```bash
# Run ZAP in daemon mode
docker run -d --name zap \
  -p 8080:8080 \
  -v $(pwd)/reports:/zap/reports \
  ghcr.io/zaproxy/zaproxy:stable \
  zap.sh -daemon -host 0.0.0.0 -port 8080 \
  -config api.addrs.addr.name=.* \
  -config api.addrs.addr.regex=true
```

### Baseline Scan

```bash
# Quick baseline scan
docker run --rm -v $(pwd):/zap/wrk \
  ghcr.io/zaproxy/zaproxy:stable \
  zap-baseline.py -t https://target.example.com \
  -r baseline-report.html
# With authentication
docker run --rm -v $(pwd):/zap/wrk \
  ghcr.io/zaproxy/zaproxy:stable \
  zap-baseline.py -t https://target.example.com \
  -r report.html \
  --auth-login-url https://target.example.com/login \
  --auth-username user \
  --auth-password pass
```

### Full Scan

```bash
# Comprehensive scan
docker run --rm -v $(pwd):/zap/wrk \
  ghcr.io/zaproxy/zaproxy:stable \
  zap-full-scan.py -t https://target.example.com \
  -r full-report.html \
  -J full-report.json
```

### API Scan

```bash
# OpenAPI specification scan
docker run --rm -v $(pwd):/zap/wrk \
  ghcr.io/zaproxy/zaproxy:stable \
  zap-api-scan.py -t https://target.example.com/openapi.json \
  -f openapi \
  -r api-report.html
```

### ZAP Automation Framework

```yaml
# zap-automation.yaml
env:
  contexts:
    - name: "Default Context"
      urls:
        - "https://target.example.com"
      includePaths:
