## What it does

The skill describes how to build an interface in a dark blue palette with hard contrast. The background is dark blue-black with subtle tonal variation, not flat black. On top of it sit one or more cobalt blocks: a hero banner, a CTA band, a spotlight card. White headings and pale-blue support copy keep it readable.

Structure stays framed. The skill suggests a max-width shell with vertical boundary lines and small corner squares, plus border-gradient wrappers around premium blue blocks and dark cards, with cleaner fills inside. Glow is local, not page-wide: background blooms, button emphasis, tiny live indicators. Motion is calm — masked word reveals, fade-up sections, gentle hover translation.

Tuning knobs cover blue intensity, contrast strength, glow amount, frame density and how dominant the banner should be. The skill also lists what to avoid: light sky-blue pages, full-screen electric blue washes, flat dark layouts with no framing or contrast block, glow on every card, heavy dashboard clutter. If your project already runs on a light palette, that is a reason to check how much of it you would have to repaint.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill dark-blue-contrasting-clean -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/dark-blue-contrasting-clean/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/dark-blue-contrasting-clean/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill dark-blue-contrasting-clean -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/dark-blue-contrasting-clean/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill dark-blue-contrasting-clean -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/dark-blue-contrasting-clean/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install MengTo/Skills dark-blue-contrasting-clean
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/dark-blue-contrasting-clean/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill dark-blue-contrasting-clean -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/MengTo/Skills --path agent-skills/web-design/dark-blue-contrasting-clean
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/dark-blue-contrasting-clean/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill dark-blue-contrasting-clean -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- set a dark palette for a landing or promo page
- build a cobalt CTA block inside a dark frame
- keep text contrast readable on a near-black background
- add rails and corner markers without hand-coding every block
- cap the glow so the page does not go hazy

## Example prompts
- Build the landing page in the dark-blue-contrasting-clean style: navy base, cobalt hero block, white headings
- Rework the pricing section with dark-blue-contrasting-clean — framed container, gradient card borders, quiet hover
- Tone down the glow and keep it only on buttons, as dark-blue-contrasting-clean suggests

# Dark Blue Contrasting Clean Skill

## Use When
- Create a dark-blue clean design system with strong contrast, cobalt gradient feature blocks, crisp framed structure, and restrained premium glow.

## Workflow

## Scope
- Apply this as a full design-system direction across page background, framing rails, hero or CTA bands, cards, link groups, navigation, and motion.
- Use it when the interface should feel premium, dark, crisp, and blue-led, with strong contrast between deep navy surfaces and brighter cobalt focal regions.
- This is not an airy cloud-blue system and not loud neon sci-fi. It should stay clean, architectural, and high-contrast.

## Visual target
- Build the page on a near-black navy base, using dark blue-black backgrounds with subtle tonal variation rather than flat pure black.
- Introduce one or more prominent cobalt or royal-blue feature blocks as contrast moments, such as hero banners, CTA bands, spotlight cards, or product sections.
- Use white typography and pale-blue support text over the dark system so the contrast feels sharp, readable, and premium.
- Add thin outer rails, border-x container lines, small corner squares, and quiet framing detail so the layout feels disciplined and engineered.
- Let blue glow stay soft and localized, appearing in background blooms, button emphasis, or tiny live indicators instead of flooding the whole page.

## Implementation guidance
- Prefer a framed max-width shell or inner container with vertical boundary lines and subtle corner markers holding the composition together.
- Use border-gradient wrappers for premium blue feature blocks and dark cards, then place cleaner inner fills inside them so the edge treatment stays crisp.
- Organize the layout in clean stacked zones: a high-impact contrast block, then quieter index or navigation areas, followed by a restrained legal or footer zone.
- Buttons and CTA cards should feel firm and premium, using dark translucent fills, blue-tinted borders, pale-blue copy, and hover states that brighten slightly.
