# crisis-response-planner

Writes your social crisis protocol before you need it, then runs it: a severity ladder, the queue-pause rule, and pre-approved holding statements.

## What it does

The skill produces the protocol document: a 1–5 severity ladder with trigger thresholds, the first-mechanical-action rule (pause all scheduled posts and paid amplification), a library of pre-approved holding statements with committed update cadences, when-NOT-to-post rules, a spokesperson and approval matrix, all-clear criteria, and a post-crisis retro template. Velocity triggers are anchored to the 7-day listening baseline from `social-pulse-monitor`, and the escalation path picks up where the commenter taxonomy in `engagement-inbox-manager` ends.

Before the queue is un-paused, it re-runs the pre-publish gate from `social-quality-auditor`. Channel state is not written here: pause and un-pause markers go out as proposals to `memory/events/channels.ndjson` through `registry-events.py`, and `channel-registry` stays the sole writer of `memory/channels/`. You need the baseline in `memory/social/social-pulse-monitor/` and the channel dossiers in `memory/channels/` — without them there is nothing to measure a threshold against.

This is a protocol and a runbook, not automation. A human executes every pause, post, and reply. Email deliverability incidents (blocklists, spam-rate spikes) belong to `deliverability-qa`, and inside a launch window incident handling goes to `launch-day-conductor`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill crisis-response-planner -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/crisis-response-planner/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/crisis-response-planner/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill crisis-response-planner -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/crisis-response-planner/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill crisis-response-planner -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/crisis-response-planner/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills crisis-response-planner
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/crisis-response-planner/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill crisis-response-planner -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --path social/host/crisis-response-planner
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/crisis-response-planner/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill crisis-response-planner -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- draft a social crisis protocol before an incident hits
- set the severity level from a mention spike or a journalist's email
- stop the posting queue and paid amplification with one rule
- prepare pre-approved holding statements with update cadences
- run the post-crisis retro and un-pause the queue

## Example prompts
- Draft our social crisis protocol: channels LinkedIn, X and 小红书, team of 2, spokesperson = founder, baseline from last week's pulse sweep.
- Mentions are running ~6x our 7-day baseline and a journalist just emailed — which severity level is this and what is the first action?
- The incident is over. Run the stand-down: reconcile the pause markers, re-run the pre-publish gate on the queued posts, then un-pause.
