## What it does

This skill guides creator program strategy for AI and SaaS products. The focus is long-term partnerships for content co-creation and brand building, not one-off deals. A comparison table separates three formats: creator program, affiliate with its sales focus, and influencer with paid promotion. Mixing them up costs you, because the incentive and the content type both follow from that choice.

Inside you get incentive models: credits, direct payment, a hybrid with commission, and marketplace revenue share. Implementation runs in phases by week — plan, launch, recruit, co-create, optimize. There is an ecosystem section where every participant gains value, plus a table of common challenges with fixes: content quality, brand consistency, UTM measurement, cost control. The output covers an incentive recommendation, landing page elements, a recruitment approach, a timeline and a KPI framework.

One thing to know before you start: results take 3–6 months, so budget your patience. On first use the skill opens with a short note on what it covers, then goes straight to the output; on later runs it skips that. If a root `contextus.md` exists, it reads that file and loads only the relevant modules, otherwise it works from what you provide.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add kostja94/marketing-skills --skill creator-program -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/creator-program/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/creator-program/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add kostja94/marketing-skills --skill creator-program -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/creator-program/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add kostja94/marketing-skills --skill creator-program -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/creator-program/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install kostja94/marketing-skills creator-program
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/creator-program/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add kostja94/marketing-skills --skill creator-program -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/kostja94/marketing-skills --path skills/channels/partnerships/creator-program
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/creator-program/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add kostja94/marketing-skills --skill creator-program -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/kostja94/marketing-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/channels/partnerships/creator-program/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- The skill is built for long partnerships, so fast wins are not on the table — the authors put results at 3–6 months out.
- Without clear content standards and brand rules a program drifts from a consistent style; the skill treats this as a named challenge with a fix.
- If your goal is direct sales, that is an affiliate program rather than a creator program — different goals, different incentives.

## Example prompts
- Ask: "Plan a creator program for our AI tool, pick an incentive model and lay out the phases by week."
- Ask: "Compare creator, affiliate and influencer programs for our SaaS — which fits content co-creation?"
- Ask: "What KPIs and landing page elements do we need to recruit creators?"

# Channels: Creator Program

Guides creator program strategy for AI/SaaS products. Long-term partnerships with creators for content co-creation and brand building. Differs from affiliate (sales focus) and influencer (paid promotion focus).

**When invoking**: On **first use**, if helpful, open with 1–2 sentences on what this skill covers and why it matters, then provide the main output. On **subsequent use** or when the user asks to skip, go directly to the main output.

## Initial Assessment

**Project context:** Read root `contextus.md` when present and load only the modules relevant to this task. Without Contextus, use available project material or user-provided facts and ask for missing information; do not create a parallel context system.

Identify:
1. **Product type**: AI tool, design tool, CMS, marketplace
2. **Content need**: Tutorials, templates, use cases
3. **Creator target**: Followers, niche, content quality

## Creator vs. Affiliate vs. Influencer

| Dimension | Creator Program | Affiliate | Influencer |
|-----------|-----------------|-----------|------------|
| **Goal** | Brand + content co-creation | Direct sales | Brand exposure |
| **Incentive** | Credits, free use, revenue share | Commission | Paid, product |
| **Content** | Must use product to create | Links | Influencer original |
| **Relationship** | Long-term | Transactional | Flexible |

## Incentive Models

| Model | Use | Examples |
|-------|-----|----------|
| **Credits** | AI tools; cost control | Credit-based AI tools |
| **Payment** | High-quality content; budget available | Paid creator programs |
| **Hybrid** | Credits + commission, brand partnership | Common for SaaS |
| **Marketplace** | Template/plugin sales; revenue share | Design tools, CMS marketplaces |
