# coralogix-docs

This skill searches and reads official Coralogix documentation through cx docs search and cx docs fetch. Handy when you need to know how the platform works or how to wire up an integration.

## What it does

The skill answers questions about the platform itself: how tracing works, where to view spans in the UI, how to set up OpenTelemetry, agents, collectors or webhooks, how to manage API keys, alerts, SLOs and dashboards. Answers come from the official docs instead of the model's guesses.

Two commands do the work. `cx docs search <query>` finds pages by keyword and returns numbered titles with path suffixes; `cx docs fetch <suffix>` downloads a single page as markdown. Search takes `--limit` from 1 to 20, default 5, and both commands support `-o json` or `-o toon`. No Coralogix API key is required.

One limit matters: this is documentation, not your data. The skill never queries live logs, spans, metrics or alerts from a tenant — that is what `cx logs`, `cx spans` and `cx metrics` are for. Pass the suffix from search results to `cx docs fetch`; full URLs get rejected. Fetch one page at a time, and start with two to four keywords rather than a full sentence.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add coralogix/cx-cli --skill coralogix-docs -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/coralogix-docs/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/coralogix-docs/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add coralogix/cx-cli --skill coralogix-docs -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/coralogix-docs/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add coralogix/cx-cli --skill coralogix-docs -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/coralogix-docs/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install coralogix/cx-cli coralogix-docs
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/coralogix-docs/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add coralogix/cx-cli --skill coralogix-docs -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/coralogix/cx-cli --path skills/coralogix-docs
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/coralogix-docs/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add coralogix/cx-cli --skill coralogix-docs -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/coralogix/cx-cli/tree/HEAD/skills/coralogix-docs/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- find a Coralogix doc page by keyword
- download a single docs page as markdown
- figure out OpenTelemetry ingestion setup
- locate the spans and traces views in the UI
- check how alerts, SLOs and dashboards behave without opening a browser

## Example prompts
- look up how to set up OpenTelemetry in the Coralogix docs
- how do I view spans in the Coralogix UI?
- search the docs for API keys and fetch that page

# Coralogix docs (`cx docs search`, `cx docs fetch`)

These commands read **official Coralogix product documentation** from [coralogix.com/docs](https://coralogix.com/docs). They answer **how the platform works** and **how to configure or use it**. They do **not** query your tenant's logs, spans, metrics, or alerts.

No Coralogix API key is required.

## CLI commands

| Command | Purpose |
|---------|---------|
| `cx docs search <query>` | Find doc pages by keyword. Returns numbered titles + path suffixes. |
| `cx docs fetch <suffix>` | Download one page as markdown. Pass the suffix from search. |

### Flags

| Flag | Commands | Description |
|------|----------|-------------|
| `--limit` | `search` | Max results, 1–20 (default 5) |
| `-o json` / `-o toon` | both | Machine-readable output |

### Examples

```bash
cx docs search "explore spans" --limit 5
cx docs search "OpenTelemetry traces"
cx docs fetch user-guides/data_exploration/spans/
cx docs search "API keys" -o json
```

## When to use these commands

Use **`cx docs search`** + **`cx docs fetch`** when the user wants:

| Topic | Example questions |
|-------|-------------------|
| **UI / workflows** | "How do I view spans in Coralogix?", "Where is Explore spans?" |
| **Ingestion & integrations** | OpenTelemetry setup, agent/collector config, Send Your Data API keys |
| **Platform features** | Alerts, SLOs, dashboards, enrichments, parsing rules, retention |
| **Concepts & architecture** | How tracing works, trace-log correlation, data model |
| **Account & access** | API keys, SSO, roles, regions |

**Prefer these commands over guessing** when the answer depends on current Coralogix product behavior or UI navigation.

## When **not** to use these commands

| User need | Use instead |
|-----------|-------------|
| **Query live logs** | `cx logs` — [cx-telemetry-querying](../cx-telemetry-querying/SKILL.md) |
| **Query live spans/traces** | `cx spans` — [cx-telemetry-querying](../cx-telemetry-querying/SKILL.md) |
| **DataPrime syntax / commands** | `cx dataprime list` / `cx dataprime show` — [cx-telemetry-querying](../cx-telemetry-querying/SKILL.md) |
| **Alerts & cases in the tenant** | `cx alerts`, `cx cases` — [cx-alerts](../cx-alerts/SKILL.md), [cx-cases](../cx-cases/SKILL.md) |
