## What it does

This skill creates `PROSE.md`, a guide to observable writing patterns: lexicon, sentence structure and length, rhythm, parallelism, and recurring signature moves. It keeps prose rules separate from a text’s emotional tone.

It has three modes. BUILD creates a new guide from `SOUL.md`, `TONE.md`, and an interview; ADAPT ports an existing `PROSE.md` to another channel grouping; AUDIT examines a content corpus before rules are written down. AUDIT uses parallel sub-agents when the corpus has more than 50 pieces.

The skill checks the working directory, including `./brand/`, `./content/`, and `./docs/`, then asks questions one at a time through the environment tool. Missing `SOUL.md` or `TONE.md` can blur style rules with tone, so preparing those files first is worth checking. Category research and external guide lookups require internet access.

**Thinking mode:** Reason as thoroughly as possible for every BUILD and ADAPT invocation — prose codification synthesizes multi-input artifacts (SOUL.md + TONE.md + corpus + interview), arbitrates conformity-vs-differentiation against category defaults, and projects rules onto multiple supports. Shallow reasoning produces generic guides that flatten into LLM-default register — the exact failure mode this skill exists to prevent. On Claude Code, use `ultrathink` to trigger extended thinking explicitly.

**Modes:**

- **ADAPT** — port an existing PROSE.md to a new channel grouping (sequential)
