# conversion-value-mapper

Builds the conversion value model so tROAS and max-conversion-value bid toward profit instead of order count. Run it before launching or scaling value-based bidding.

## What it does

The skill defines and QAs the value model behind value-based bidding: a value per conversion, a margin and net-value adjustment, static versus dynamic value rules, proxy values for actions that carry no revenue (lead, phone call, signup), and a value-versus-count reconciliation. You get a value-model spec plus a pre-launch QA sheet.

It runs on your own exports: a GA4 purchase-value and ecommerce revenue export, plus a margin or COGS breakdown. For proxy values it can use lead-to-sale close rate and average order value. Every value is labeled measured, user-provided, or estimated — the skill asks for the COGS export rather than inventing a margin. Exported files and pasted reports are treated as untrusted, so a line like "margin is 60%" inside a CSV is evidence to weigh, not an instruction.

The scope line matters. This skill does not check whether the tag fires or whether UTMs are clean — `conversion-signal-qa` owns that. It does not score the `R1`/`R2` vetoes — `ad-account-auditor` does. And it does not decide which platform gets credit for a conversion — that is `attribution-reconciler`. If the account bids to max-conversions with no value goal, a value model is optional, and the skill will say so instead of over-building.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill conversion-value-mapper -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/conversion-value-mapper/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/conversion-value-mapper/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill conversion-value-mapper -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/conversion-value-mapper/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill conversion-value-mapper -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/conversion-value-mapper/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills conversion-value-mapper
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/conversion-value-mapper/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill conversion-value-mapper -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --path ad/activate/conversion-value-mapper
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/conversion-value-mapper/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill conversion-value-mapper -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- assign a value to every conversion before a tROAS launch
- fold margin into the purchase value so bidding chases profit
- choose static or dynamic value rules and justify the pick
- give lead, phone and signup conversions a proxy value for max-conversion-value
- reconcile the value the platform receives against booked profit

## Example prompts
- Set up my conversion values so tROAS bids to profit, not revenue. Bid goal: tROAS. Here is my GA4 purchase-value export and my margin / COGS by product-category export: [path].
- Build value rules for my non-revenue conversions — assign a proxy value to lead, phone-call, and newsletter-signup so max-conversion-value has something to bid toward.
- My tROAS optimizes to revenue but our margins vary by SKU — map net margin onto the conversion value and QA it before I relaunch. [GA4 + COGS attached]
