## What it does

The skill walks a pre-flight checklist over your paid-traffic measurement. You name the destinations (Google, Meta) and the conversion actions that matter — purchase, lead, signup — and it goes item by item: does the conversion event fire, are UTMs missing or inconsistent in case, is a single source of truth for orders declared, do the attribution windows line up per platform. Every item is marked pass, fail or needs-input. Nothing passes by default.

You get two outputs: a pre-flight report and a versioned UTM/event spec — naming convention, conversion-event table, ref and hash. The spec lands in `memory/ad/conversion-signal-qa/`; signal-integrity blockers go to `memory/hot-cache.md` and `memory/open-loops.md`. It runs on your own GA4 Conversions and Traffic-acquisition (source/medium) exports plus one manual test conversion you perform yourself. Ad-platform and tag-manager API access is optional, never required.

The scope line matters. This skill builds and fixes the signal; it does not score the R1/R2 ROAS vetoes — that is `ad-account-auditor`. It is also not the monthly dedup and incrementality reconciliation, which belongs to `attribution-reconciler`. If you never ran a test conversion, that item stays needs-input rather than pass. Gaps from offline import and iOS-ATT modeling get flagged explicitly instead of slipping through.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill conversion-signal-qa -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/conversion-signal-qa/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/conversion-signal-qa/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill conversion-signal-qa -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/conversion-signal-qa/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill conversion-signal-qa -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/conversion-signal-qa/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills conversion-signal-qa
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/conversion-signal-qa/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill conversion-signal-qa -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --path ad/activate/conversion-signal-qa
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/conversion-signal-qa/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aaron-he-zhu/aaron-marketing-skills --skill conversion-signal-qa -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- verify conversion events fire before campaigns go live
- build a UTM scheme and event spec for a campaign
- trace mismatches between Meta, Google and GA4 order numbers
- confirm a dedup rule and aligned attribution windows exist pre-launch
- flag offline-import and iOS-ATT modeled gaps

## Example prompts
- QA my conversion tracking before I scale. Platforms: Google + Meta. Here are my GA4 Conversions and Traffic-acquisition exports: [path].
- Build me a UTM scheme and event spec for this campaign, then give me a pre-launch tracking checklist.
- My Meta and Google numbers don't match my GA4 orders — find the dedup, attribution-window and UTM problems.
